lots of ways...
one of them is to get the length of the text with len function (vb6 and vb.net support) if the legnth was equal to 11 so it calls the function.

Dear friends,
I am going to develop a mobile application(related with Camera) in .net.
If we take a picture of the product then it should store the name available in the barcode as its file name.
I dont have any prior experiance on this.. Could you people suggest how can I move forward.
Please help me ASAP
Thanks
Regards
Azeem

I'm not shure I'm getting this
you want to take a picture of a product
in that picture is a barcode
and on the barcode is a name?
and you want to extract that name and use it as a file name
if so that will be next to impossible since it would require you to write code that can read text from a picture.
if the barcode itself is the name and the pic is only of the barcode you can do this but then you will need to know the 'encoding' of the barcode.
--> if this is the case just search the net for 'barcode + vb.net' you should find plenty of examples on how to do this
If my help was helpfull let me know, if not let me know why.

Thank you for ur timely reply.
The first possibility you have guessed is right but small modification that name of the picture is not inside the barcode but which is at the top of the barcode so I just need to edit it and save it as file name.

the problem still remains the same you still need to extract text from an image wich is as far as I know almost impossible to do (if it's typed text it might be possible but still very very difficult) and even if you get it working I doubt it will work perfectly.
My suggestion would be to look into alternate naming for the file but without more specification what you'r programe needs to do and what technolagies you use I can't be more specific

thank you very much.
My objective is develop the mobile application which should capture a picutre and save into a particular folder and its name should be the name available in that picture.
This application should run in Win Pocket PC 2003 software. I wish to develop
in Microssoft .NET(I dont know what other tools I need for this like mobile emulator)
We will look into the naming of the file later on or we can make it as a typed file name.
Please help me to start... If I get a way then I will move forward..
Please tell me if you need any other clarifications
Thank you for ur support

well if you'r new to mobile development the first thing you'll need to do is learn the framework a bit (the links provide a few post earlier should help with that)
so create a few (small) projects to get the hang of it
after that you will need to see how you can tap into the camera of the pocket pc (can't help you much there never done it before) once you can do that it's simply a matter of taking the pic and saving it.
what you'll need to install (as far as I know by heart):
the mobile framework for visual studio
some sort of syncronisation (forgive my spelling) programme (I always used activesync)
the mobile emulator is handy for testing during development but I suggest you test it with the hardware too from time to time since somethimes there is a differance in positioning the controls (this is a bit trial and error) unless that has been fixed (been a while since I programmed for mobile devices)
that's all (I think)

Thank you very much.
What do you mean by synchronization programmer. I think synchronization between the PC and mobile. If it so where I can get it?

indeed I mean synchronization between pc and mobile.
the most used (the one I also used) is 'activesync'
just do a google search and you'l find hondreds of download links (including ones from microsoft sites (yes its a microsoft product ))
I think it's for free so...

without more detail :
use the mousdown event
check to see if its the right button
send the message (whatever you mean with this)
form1_mousedown
if e.Button=Windows.Forms.MouseButtons.Right then
messagebox.show("bla")
end if

you have to use API mouse_event to simulate a mouse click.search for it

You can keep asking, but until you answer the questions you've been asked about your requirements, you're going to get ignored.
This is the third of forth time you've asked this question and you've repeatedly ignored answering the critical questions asked of you and ignored the advice you've already been given.
No, we're not going to write the code for you. This is NOT something for someone very new to programming, let alone someone who doesn't know how Windows works.

Hi everyone
Could anyone help me. I would like to restrict the users of my software from maximise the form. Is there any way of disabling the form maximise property?
The other thing is I would also like to detect when the user closes the form using the X in the right corner.I would like to ask the user if they want to save before closing down. What event is this and how is it called?
Thanks for reading this and I hope u will be able to help me.

hi twsted f8
to Remove the button to Maximise, Right Click on your Form and click on Properties, in your Properties Window, look for Window Style --> You will find the Option "ControlBox", set it to "False" and you Buttons will be gone.
but Now if you set the Controlbox to false then you will not see the (X) button to close your Form, you will just have to create your own button.
you can but the same code in the Following events
The Following code is in your Form closing event
<code>
Private Sub Form1_Closing(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.ComponentModel.CancelEventArgs) Handles MyBase.Closing
If MessageBox.Show("Do you want to Exit", "Question", MessageBoxButtons.YesNo) = DialogResult.Yes Then
Me.Dispose()
Else
'''Do nothing
End If
End Sub
</code>
Note that you can Create a button for your self and write the same code.
Hope this helps

now in both cases the form will close
instead of '''do nothing there should be e.cancel = true

the user is still able to maximise his window by dubbleclicking the title bar
using the formborderstyle property might be a better way to accomplish what he wants

look at the formborderstyle property there are several wich will do what you want all with different looks

events:
formclosing
formclosed
whith e.CloseReason=CloseReason.UserClosing you can distinguish between a user closing you'r form or another programme (or you'r own programme)
hope this helps

the best i found to let my form remain in maximized state is by overriding onSizeChanged method (or by handling sizechanged event) and writing following lines there
If Not DesignMode Then
If Not Me.WindowState = FormWindowState.Maximized Then
Me.WindowState = FormWindowState.Maximized
End If
End If
if user tries to change the size even by clicking on maximize button the form will restore back to previous stat. keep in mind initially you will have to set the windowstate of form to Maximized
