well - after long try out, i am now at the point to send my graphic as udp-broadcast. problem is: the graphic is to large for one udp packet. i want to split the graphic in for sections, send these section and build them together on the other side. but i dont know how to cut bitmap and then rebuild the pieces to a whole again. do you have an idea how this can work? i guess you have. you always have.

All you need to do is search the net for "vb6 parelle port" and you'l come up with all kinds of tidbits on the subject. Try http://delabs.topcities.com/cirdir/data2.html[^]

thanks a lot sir anonymous, but i need is the windows application of .net. we have a program that set the time when will a switch will be open or close through the output of the parallel port. i know that the parallel port's output is about 5 volts. that voltage is will be connected in a relay that is also connected to a female plug. i really appreciate the help that you gave to me. Thanks a lot guys!

This will work is you wanted to read/write data to the port. But for a hardware "switch" application, you'd need I/O port-level access to the COM and LPT ports for it to work properly.

Search the web for "metro 272 file format equifax[^]" for more information. You may even have to contact Equifax or TRW for the specification.

Hi all,
I would like to have the tool tip text on a col of a datagrid. For eg if I run my mouse on the second col of my Datagrid I want to display 'Enter only Mr. or Mrs."
Is t his possible?
Tnx

It is possible. I think you can find a good start on this near the bottom of Customizing the Windows Forms DataGrid[^] on MSDN. The technique is the same, but must be modified to work with columns instead of rows.

I have an application and i'm using a treeview as a sub menu. I read the required form name from a table in string format.
Now i want to load and display the form in vb.net.
I've tried iterating thru the forms collection, but that does not seem possible.
PLEASE I REALLY need some help

There is no forms collection...
You have to create an instance of the form you want, like this:
Dim myForm As New Form2
myForm.Show()
But, since your using a string to represent the name of the form, you'll have to make a choice based on that name, then open the appropriate form.
Windows Forms in the .NET Framework don't work like the forms in previous version of Visual Basic. You might want to read Working with Multiple Forms in Visual Basic .NET: Upgrading to .NET[^] on MSDN first.

Thank you for your reply to my problem. But perhaps a bit of code in a hypathetical situation might describe my problem better.
'k Lets say i have an application with 2 forms "frmList", "frmDetails"
......... some code .........
Dim chrSelectedForm as String = "frmList"
Dim objSelectedForm as Form
objSelectedForm = new chrSelectedForm
objSelectedForm.Show()
............ or ..............
For each objSelectedForm in "MyApp.Form" - there'sno forms collection
if objSelectedForm.Name=chrSelectedForm
objSelectedForm.Show
End If
Next
--- end --------
I hope you can see from the above what i'm trying to achive.............. it's driving me nusts - i have a whole system thats been designed around this concenpt and will now not work..........
Please - HELP !!!!!!!

How About something Like
Sub Openform(byVal p_formName as string )<br />
<br />
Select Case p_formName<br />
<br />
Case "frmList"<br />
Dim form As New frmList<br />
form.MdiParent = Me ' if you are using MDI container<br />
form.Show() 'or form.ShowDialog() <br />
Case "frmDetails"<br />
Dim form As New frmDetails<br />
form.MdiParent = Me<br />
form.Show()<br />
<br />
End Select<br />
<br />
End Sub<br />
|
|
|
|
|
What mtone put up is, by far, the easiest solution. In order for your String version to work, you'll have to use Reflection in order to get the list of Form classes in your assembly. Not a problem for the faint of heart...

Nope. Not that good with ASP.NET. You would probably have better luck posting this question, with alot more detail, in the ASP.NET Forum.

hi,
Arun, this may not be what you want. But i have a small doubt on this question. i am explaining my level best.
See, Events are user generated or systems generated. Events are used to notify the system that some actions is happend. Each and every windows based applications have their own message queque( event loging) that will keep the messages or events which is generated by the user. This event loging is maintained by operating system itself.
Here you want to pass an event which happend in one form(window) to another. That is you want to merge a perticular event(message) into another message context. So i don't think so that , it is possible to pass an event from one window to another window which doesn't have any logical relation. And one more thing i want to specify now. See if we can hadle this event's and event logging priority then we would have easily deside which window need to execute and which event need to triggers even though they have least priority in message queue.
So i don't think that it is possible to merge your event into some other windows message queue. Actually it is maintained by OS itself.
