Hi everyone,
I am having problems with the crystal report viewer. It cant load any report saying 'load report failed'. I have never used the control before. I am using vs2005 pro, could it be a bug in the software? Please help.

first u have to design ur report as u like ...,then save ur repot from the menu file (save report.rpt)
then add another new form in order to show ur report there and in the form load event type the following code
CrystalReportViewer1.ReportSource = ("crystalreport1.rpt")<br />
i hope this help
if there is any another question plz feel free to ask

Thankyou for responding to my query. I have been doing exactly as you have suggested but I still get the same error "load report failed". This also happens when I try to set the crystalreportviewer's reportsource property under the controls property's.

Have you at least read through any of the help documentation/tutorials?

What is the process to apply the password in sql server 2000 database
|

|
Hi Vasudevan ........
i wanted to generate the password on my sql server 2000 database.How to do that ?
|
|
|
|
|
You don't. SQL Server security works kind of like Windows Security. User accounts get permissions to various objects, like tables, stored procedures, and actions/methods on those objects, like SELECT, UPDATE, INSERT, DELETE on tables.
There is no way to password protect a single database in SQL Server. I highly suggest reading up on Sql Server Security[^].

Can anyone tell me how to create Crystal reports in Vb 6.0.

Hi you have to install Crystal reports
(it does not install as part of normal set up)- it can be found at
"CD":\COMMON\TOOLS\VB\CRYSREPT\Crystl32.exe.
Once you have done that you can access the reports program from either
within Vb 6 (Add-ins - report designer) or from the start menu.
If you look in the folder where CryRep was installed to, there should be a
help file. In the help file is a section on "Developers Help" (or similar).
This is where I found out how to make templates, etc.
From what I did deduce, its far too much hassel to actaully try and make the
report template from VB.

i have a textbox binded.when i clear the All the Textboxes in my Form for a user to Enter data, the textboxes repopulates itself. , so i need to unbind it when a user enter data
<br />
txtb.DataBindings.Add("text", DataSet21, "Property.ACTIVE")<br />

txtb.DataBindings.Clear()
txtb.Text = ""

Thank you my man, but what i thought it would do, it did not do it for me, mybe i should explain the situation to you.
i have a form with add button
<br />
Locktextboxes()<br />
DisableNavigation()<br />
cmdsave.Enabled = False<br />
cmdadd.Text = "&Add"<br />
Rejectchanges()<br />
mblnAdding = False<br />
and save Save,we will just ignore other buttons because they serve their purpose well.As yuo can see the code, i lock the text boxes,Disable navigation in the dataset and the save buttons and more as you can see.
Now when i click on Add it should clear the textboxes and allow a user to Capture Details. not there is a case where one of the Text boxes need to be skipped and that means null value in an interger or Decimal field in my Table. now when i skip those text boxes and TAB to another textbox, it populates it with a value automatically from a Dataset, and that will be the value of the first Record.
this is my form load
<br />
Locktextboxes()<br />
SqlDataAdapter1.Fill(DataSet11)<br />
<br />
i make it safe by locking the textboxes and navigate.
And the Second question, from the above Question, i have Decimal Fields and integer Fields in my table accepting input from my vb.net form. So when the text box is being skipped, how do i save a Null value to the dataset. so i can update it later. dont get me wrong i know how to update, i just need to know the logic of how you make a integer filed or Decimal field Accept a Null value. Please Supply code Example.
Thanks
Vuyiswa
