Hi there,
I've got a new A0-plotter (HP) but this silly thing cannot arrange jobs. So it wastes a lot of paper even if the printing format is smaller than the plotters paper size. It has to be driven with HPGL2.
Does anyone know a plotter server program, that is able to combine HPGL2-jobs together, arranging them in a manner to save paper? The files have to be probably rotated by 90 degrees and given an appropriate offset to put e.g. 4 x A4 in one line.
The program has to understood HPGL2 and has to be able to rotate and shift the data.
Any helpful softwareparts known? HPGL2 seems to be a problem for this task as I was told. Can't believe that.

I have a network with several Windows 2000/XP clients and a Windows NT 4 domain controller. There is also a new Windows 2003 (active directory) server, that is the Primary Domain Controller of a *different* domain. The ultimate goal is to migrate all clients to the new 2003 domain and eventually remove the aging NT machine from the network.
The following steps have been performed:
Log on to the client machine as local administrator and join it to the new domain.
Restart the client and log on to the new domain as a domain user (to create the new profile).
Log off the client and restart the computer.
Log on to the client machine as local administrator and copy the users old profile (from C:\Documents and Settings\...) into the newly created profile.
Add the new user to the machine as a local administrator.
Restart the computer and log back on as the new domain user.
At this point, all shortcuts and programs seem to be present. However, the layout and behavior of the desktop, appearance of the start menu and several other items are different. Furthermore, email (Outlook 2000) folders can no longer be located and user priveleges seem to be restricted. It seems that while the files and folders are copied correctly, the file permissions and registry are not.
How can I migrate a users local profile when moving from a Windows NT 4 domain, to a *different* domain on a Windows 2003 active directory server?

I seems like you have the saster worm or plaster or any worn that do this ,chech your pc from symantec , and the temporary solution to this to avoid shutdown ,is when the timer is counting down ,type at the command prompet : shutdown -a ,, this will abort the counting and lets you free for the next restart :->.

I think your computer is affect with the virus. Try to use any anti-virus software to scan from the boot CDROM or scan from the internet.

Your ListFiles of OS Windows is corrupted the best choice is to reinstall again OSWindows(XP or 2000) then you computer will work without that error. I suggest you to keep ur benefits files from drive which is installed ur OS.

Hi:
Looks like your system has got infected and I think a variant of BlasterWorm. You can abort the shutdown by quickly typing shutdown -a and then you can update your Antivirus with latest virus definitions. Run a full system scan.
That should help you with a resolution.

hi
i need help in undrstanding the printer spooler.
by the way, i have machine with windows98 OS
connected locally with printer.
is there any software tool that help me
in undrstanding spooler?
and thanks for all

What do you need to know?
When a Windows program prints, the job is sent to the hard drive in (IIRC) System32\Spool\ where it is saved until the spooler service gets around to it. The service is notified of a job waiting, and the spooler then handles the interaction with the print device driver and the actual printer. This allows the application to continue interacting with the user, while printing is handled in a separate process as CPU time is available. Spooling allows control to return to the user much faster, and helps to prevent such errors as buffer full, or printer out-of-memory states which would crash DOS systems.
Nice tool when it works, but the Win9x implementation was not the greatest. It's much improved since. If you want to play with it, try running a few programs, set the spooler to disabled (in the Printer settings), then try printing a document. Compare to the behavior when spooling is enabled.

thank you Mr Roger
but is there any software simulation
about the spooler work?

None that I know of, but I really haven't looked. You might try using Google to search for Print Spooler Simulator or something similar.

I'm not sure about your question, but i guess you might want to control the printer activities. If you want to know that, try to check the following printing script[^] to gain more idea.

You can cause the system to log you on automatically using the Autologon feature in TweakUI[^].

Read this article[^] and try to test the key DefaultDomainName key under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

Hi guys
I only was wandering what I have to do to simulate the moon and sun keys in my keyboard if I don't have it.
Is there an equivalence if you don't have these keys in your keyboard?
