It would make me happy if you revisit the thread and tell me that you succeeded, and which tool you used.

I just found the thread again...
I used Testdisk to recover the partition table, PhotoRec to recover the pictures. I found 99% of the deleted files (30000 pictures in total), with quite some duplicates, obviously from some auto-saving image manipulation software. The rest was lost, but I was able to recover all their favorite pictures - birth of their kid etc.
Thanks again. And Thanks you reminded me
Cheers,
Sebastian

Yes, I have this software. Ontract, but its file size is 25Mb. I don't know how to send to you.

I know you only had the best intentions, but OnTrack's recovery suite is commercial software. I have no interest in illegal copies, so please do NOT send the software.

Actually, having read the question, I doubt it.
Not without being more specific anyway.

The thread is 'Operating Systems/SysAdmin' only.
I believe, as I read this, an administrator has moved the thread from elsewhere to here.

I assume you are running something with RJ45. In that case, is your cable a crossover cable?
|
|
|

With gigabit this will not be necessary since they auto crossover but anything less you will need a crossover cable for a direct pc-pc connection.

Interesting, I didnt know they did that, I was allways wondering why el cheapo card didnt have this ability, as most hubs are auto sensing anyways.

Hmm, sounds like an RS 232 port.

Null modem cable perhaps?

OK, I looked at your profile:
"I am studying B.Tech Information Technology 2nd year in MNM Jain Engineering College. I am very interested in Programming, especially visual programming. Even one of my hobby is programming, even though i play games most of the times"
So although you are a second year student you are actually useless and spend the whol etime playing games.
Tell you wht, why dont you take all your computers and give themn to someone who can use them. Then get a job in a factory putting lids on jars or something because thats all you are good for.

Did you try WinPatrol? That would prevent/alert system setting changes that creeps in without your knowledge.

While trying to install Visual Stuido 2008 setup informed that I have to remove .NET 2.0 SP1
However I got a message when trying to uninstall I got a message from ADD/REMOVE programs that this
cann't be done (the unintall) as other programs need .NET 2.0 SP1
Any suggestions

i never installed VS2008 but of course you can't uninstall the framework .net 2.0 because many programs use it.. i think you need to install the .net 3.0.
Go to the web page of windows update and see if it is available...
i don't know if it helps
