Your AV could be picking up on an application trying to write to the registry. You would have to add an exception with your code to allow this I suppose, I wouldn't know I haven't ran into this problem.

The difference is that I have same application which is subset of this and it run properly. But when I am running main application which communicates with server (implemented in Java) using SOAP 3.0 is giving problem. Are there any services run with such AV which could block communication between client and server.

There's a whole bunch of ways to get an up to load at startup. The simplest and most user friendly is to put a short cut to it in the startup folder.
Alternatively you can create a registry key for it here:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\
All the other ways are explained here:

Thanks for your reply. but I this option is modifiable for a user who is having Admin wrights. I need a solution where normal user cannot change this and transperant to him.

Put the reg key in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE instead. This then effects all users, and the user must be an admin to change/remove it.

Thanks but where to put in HKLM i.e under which key we need to provide details of application that will run while system boot time.

Come on. Seriously. If you actually read the link I gave you it gives you everything you need to know, including the full registry keys. Or you could try using Google, which is what I did to find that link.

Is there any remote desktop software have this function:
set controller as server,
set remote desktop sender as client, and this client is a sub lan.
so, the controller can not connect the client,
but the client can connect the server.
this is opposite to generally remote desktop software(e.g. like MS Windows Remote Desktop).
we need embed Remote Desktop in our software,
but we don't want to develop it.
Glad to discuss with you and best wishes.

Well, UltraVNC has some plugins to allow such usage, otherwise you could use PortImport[^] Which should work with almost any remote desktop software.

Hi, I have a problem with my ADSL modem. During the time that I run this modem its usually get stuck when its run around 5 hours. I try to check the configuration in my network but everything is normal. But when i turn it off around 5mn and turn on again, the internet is running as normal. It is happend many time a day and I also try to fix the problem by this solution.
One day I asked the technician at ISP company to check it and after that they inform me that this modem is too old and the configuration value of MTU in the modem cause the problem to make an internet interrupt. They recommend to me to change to the new modem which is going to solve the problem.
Currently I do not have any idea yet about this suggestion, so I would like to know whether MTU configuration in the modem really affect to the an internet connectivity process?
Thank in advance

Changing the MTU?? That probably won't fix the problem, but, you never know until you try. It's more likely that you do have a problem with the modem though.
|
|
|
|
|
So what is the most likely cause of the problem?
|
|
|
|
|
An intermittant drop in the DSL connection. You can replace the modem, but it's just as likely that line quality will be causing the issue.

Hi, I have a problem with using symentic server in my organization. There are two problems that I found:
1. I try to set the schedule for automatica update to daily at 10am. But when I check my server in the afternoon I didn't found any update yet. I leave it for 7 days and there is no update on the server. Unless that I perform manual update by myself then the anti-virus on the server will be update.
2. When I perform an update, I found that the update size is very big, nearly 40Mb. As I used to work with client machine that is standalone of symentic corporate edition, they download the big file for the first download and the next update will download around 200kb to 500kb. But for my server always download around 40Mb when i perform an update today or event tomorrow. I try many time and I found the file size is very big. I don't know what is the cause of the problem.
If anyone know the solution please let me know on how to fix the problem. Thank in advance!!!

I'd be willing to be Symantec knows the solution to the problem. Why don't you give them a call and find out? After all, you did pay for support when you bought the product, didn't you?

After implementing win2000 auto-logon in registry I am having the following problems with VC 6.0.
While starting project (load last project) in VC 6.0 I get an error from VSS "unable to access log file", than I get VSS logon dialog - I guess it is reasonable since my VSS user access is password protected and the auto-logon did not "pass the password " to the VSS.
Fine, but after entering the password VSS still complains and I have to cancel it.
The final problem - the project does not load all the files and I get "hourglass" after starting the debug process. Again - it is somewhat expected.
Anybody experiences similar problems?
I know the obvious solution - do not do auto-logon in Win 2000 !
Cheers Vaclav

Hello Everyone,
We have just moved from a x86 system to Win2003 64-bit version and there I couldnt find the ODBC Drivers. The only driver listed is the SQL Server one. All other drivers are missing.
I have some applications that are using the Text Driver and now they are failing.
What should I need to install in order to get those drivers back?
Thanks in advance

Hi, I have a problem with my e-mail server which is using Symentic Corporate Edition 10.1. Our e-mail system is using mdaemon mail server and the problem is when the RealTime scanner of symentic scan on the folder of Mdaemon, will cause the problem of slow, stuck or duplicate e-mail to user. Because we need the system to protect our e-mail system, we try to find the solution which could solve the above problem. Does anyone has any idea on how to fix the above problem? Thank in advance

I think that's a feature.
After quite some fighting with Symantec support about similar issues on their earlier versions I've made all my customers swap to F-Secure.
No complaints so far, from my customers that is.
I've got to learn to read the questions properly.
If I understand correctly you are using a realtime file scanner on the mail folder.
I suggest that you buy/get/install a dedicated mailscanner on your system and exclude the mail folder from realtime scanning.

Hello again!!! Does the mail scanner software could protect the mail server an any anti-virus server or could scan only an e-mail message for the virus in the attachment file?
Thank for your answer!!!

Normally an smtp mailscanner is installed on a separate computer as a gateway, where all messages including the attachments is scanned before reaching the mailserver.
Knowing that you today are using MDaemon and Symantec I can recommend some reading here[^] and here[^].
Remember that using two different antivirus products on one computer might lead to odd and funny results.
