I got all excited when the CodeProject newsletter arrived with a link to an article on ASP.NET server-side rollover controls ("Just your basic image rollover control, using server controls," it promised.) Just what I'm about to tackle!
Sadly, the link is broken and I can't find the article. Where'd it go?

You can create a ImageButton. Then, you can add attributes like
ImageButton1.Attributes.Add("onMouseOver", "this.src='go.gif'");
ImageButton1.Attributes.Add("onMouseOut", "this.src='submit.gif'");
This will create an image rollever effect. I can say that this is a server-side control having a rollover effect established in the client-side. I think I answered your question.....

I would like to see some one write some tutorials on BOOST. I see that there are a lot of people that like it however every time I look at it I can't figure it out enough to use it. I don't know if it is me or what but I find the documentation that accompanies the library of little or no use.

I'm in the process of updating our app to look more XP.
One of the things I've been doing is Letterbox mode (or widescreen).
For an example look at the XP login screen (non-networked/home edition).
I have a set of classes that do all the hard work.
Is this of interest to anyone?

I have to call a lot of SQL statments in a dll  - extended stored procedure and I don't know how ! I'm using the ODS library but which routine do I have to use ? Please help me with some links to Open Server Library or some articles about how to hide a stored procedure code in a dll !

Is there any way to measure the distance between two points on a network? Say by measuring signal degredation or somthing similar?
I just think it would be cool if you could make a network/domain map using this method. Of course, there would be no way to track direction, except maybe by using the sender and receiver IP if on two different domains.
Maybe I'm smoking too much crack.

I remeber reading somewhere that you could work out which continent a server resided on based on its TTL value. But I also remember reading elsewhere that this was during the early days of the net and probably doesn't work as well as it used to.

I've often wondered how common a satellite hop is for trans-continent communication. 50,000 miles round trip from a geosynchronous satellite would beat anything terrestrial.
And on the subject of delays, have you ever used your cell phone to call another cell phone right next to you and noticed the delay between when you say "hello" and the other phone says "hello" back? It's about 1/4 second or so, as far as I can tell. Personally, I'm amazed that, while it's perceptible, it's barely so. Magic. (But that's because I only have a real vague idea of how it all works!)

It would certainly be cool, but you'd need a new kind of NIC just for starters. You'd need to have one that can measure and report the actual signal voltage (to measure path loss) and some sort of time domain reflectometer to measure line length. Even so, you would only be able to characterize the physical path to the next router, and it would include lots of error because there is no standard for propagation velocity on network cabling. Your best bet would be to lobby for a standard that requires a physical address to be appended to the existing MAC address and which can be retrieved using ARP.
