About restricting the who can approve, there have been already some opinions in the B&S forum. I would go for give no reputation for approves at all. That would reduce a lot the number of clicks.
I have told my opinion on this several times. I think it would be a good idea if the list of "approvers" would be visible at least for a certain group of people (methors, protectors or whatever). So we could somehow help CP-Staff to identify socket puppets, followers, minions and friends. That way would be possible to find patterns and see if another kind of action would be needed.

Chris mentioned me that persons who had approved any article is visible on the bottom left. Since you are the protector , you should be able to see it.. Check and see.

I don't see it too, but I assumed that it should be visible to protectors.

Hi all,
I recently wrote the an article (OutlookJiraAddIn: Yet Another Jira Outlook Plugin.[^]).
The article has few snapshots posted in it. When I am editing the document, the page shows the images properly. However, when I open it via the above link, when not signed it, it shows images resized to an extent where they look blurred.
It seems to me I am missing some tag or property in the article which compresses the image like this. Any pointers to make it render properly would be appreciated.

You're images are way, WAY too big. Shrink them down to under 700px and re-upload them.
cheers

I'm working on an article right now (hasn't been published yet) and I've formatted an extremely small Razor code sample and it renders improperly --- adds extra brackets and highlights it yellow.
You can see it at the bottom of my article here:
ASP.NET MVC : Build Your Custom Blog Engine (CMS) - CodeProject[^]
Can someone provide a suggestion about what I should do?
Maybe just format at HTML or something?
Thanks,

Our article editor code blocks only accept < and > and so on. If you email me the code I'd be happy to format it for you. I went in there to rescue it, but don't see the code there.

It's no big deal, since this portion is just a couple of lines.
I just formatted it with the [v]ariable formatting.
Thanks for your timely response and help.

I was writing my article and I just added an image and I did a preview to make sure it looked good and...
lo and behold!
The razor code was formatted properly now!!!!
Obviously there are elves at work here.

When on your own article, there should be some options on the top right that allow you to edit your article. The edit option is a pen symbol and the linked text 'Update your article'. If these links are not present it as an error.
But you can try to edit your article using this link (not clickable here because it should only work for your):

The images look fine to me. But you should consider changing it to a "Tip/trick". Articles tend to have more in-depth discussion, whereas this is just a series of screen-shots and code blocks.

This[^] should be published as an Article? I doubt it even as Tip/Trick because all there is about calling api. It has nothing to do with Sprint.

Another article got accepted while it shouldn't: C++ in the modern world[^]
Should be a blog because it is a copy of a blog and has external images.
Contains images with unclear copyrights and missing attributions.
My comment post during approval:
Quote: Because this is a copy of your blog you should change the type to blog.
But more important you should provide attribution to the used images to indicate that you are allowed to use them. This does not apply to the images created by you but even those should have an indication.
I found at least the "Teach yourself c++ in 21 days" image which seems to be from Abstruse Goose | How to Teach Yourself Programming[^]. It is published under the Attribution-NonCommercial 3.0 United States (CC BY-NC 3.0 US)[^] license requiring an attribution which is missing.
I'm sorry, but this can't be accepted while the image copyrights are unclear and required attributions are missing.
[EDIT]
I have reposted the above when the article went to moderation again after updating and the author replied. So he is hopefully adding the required information.

Article in question: Python Messagebox with QT[^]
There were two comments that this is not an article. But more important, I wrote a comment that it is plagiarised or may be site driving spam. I have not reported it because I gave the author the chance to answer and clarify.
My comment:
Quote: Your code example is mainly copied from pythonspot. So this may be reported as plagiarised which usually leads to closing your account too. See Re-using Code Samples in the CodeProject Plagiarism FAQ[^].
[EDIT]
If you are involved with pythonspot, this is of course not plagiarism but needs clarification. However, in that case this can be seen as site driving spam.
[/EDIT]
I did not report yet but strongly recommend to delete this or change it to comply with the CP requirements.
As already noted by others this is not enough for an article. But even as tip this does not add anything to the referenced sites which will be probably read by PyQt beginners. So I don't see any value with such an article/tip here.
