How can I open a JSF page as a non modal dialog

Hi,

<b>I am trying to open a new jsf page with following code</b>

above code opens page in new window, but the parent window is now not accessible unless you close the newly opened window

please help if I am missing anything

Hello Friends,
I am new to web development and developing a website Dreamweaver (HTML) i want to add a video (FLV) to one of my web page i have use flash video from dreamweaver it runs files on local system but when i upload it it does not run not even i have seen flash player on my page...

i have searched a lot on net but does not find any solution

You can't play an FLV file in a web browser - you must load it and play it from within a flash (SWF) file.

It has to be tranformed into a .swf file.
Btw, you can add a swf like this.

Hi Folks

I have an asp.NET page with a fairly interactive user interface. At one stage I programatically add textboxes to the cells an asp table control which is in a panel control. None of that matters though. The textboxes are added programatically.

How do I retrieve the TextBox.Text property values after a server button click? Naturally, after the postback, the textboxes are no longer available to be referenced.

Am I doing or missing something really dumb? It wouldn't be the first time. Blush | :O

in depends on how you are entering your control inside that table cell.
try this

Thanks but I don't think that will help.

The problem is that if you add controls to a asp.net page programatically and any postback occurs the controls which were added programatically no longer exist.

My scenario:
Initially the page only consists of a dropdown list. If clicked/selected I bind a datatable to a gridview (could be any table's data). If another button is clicked I add textboxes to a asp table below the gridview. There could be any amount of textboxes, for each column in the gridview I add a textbox to a table cell. The user can then enter values into the textboxes and then click another button. When the page reloads those textboxes are not available. I used code similar to yours to get the values but they simply aren't there.

The previous comment directed me to a discussion (which I found on page 20 or something, alot of searching OMG | :OMG:

) which helped a little. It seems that if I add the controls from the Page_Load method they are still available when the page reloads/postsback. That fix requires alot of refactoring though D'Oh! | :doh:

Will reply to first post if I make any real progress. It's quite interesting what I'm trying to do. Maybe I will post an article if I get it going right. Laugh | :laugh:

I assume for security's sake, I don't believe that you can simulate key presses in Javascript.

Webservice on Multiple servers

Hi,

I had written a webservice..which is working fine. This webservice will reside in server.

Now if I have make this webservice work for multiple servers.

Right now Iam adding a webrefernce to my application which is consuming webservice.

if this webservice has to be utilised globally..then what I have to do?

If I have to host the same webservice on different servers that leads to waste memory..since in all web methods in all the webservices have same logic and same datatype.

1.To make the same webservcie work on mutiple servers....

2. How add web refernce globally through programatically

3. If to make the webservcie work globally what are the paarameters I have to pass for them?.

4. what is best mechanism to check whether server running or down?

IE6.0: Operation Aborted Error Messge

Hi to All!

IE6.0 & IE7.0 generates the error message "Internet cannot open this site http://www.abc.com/ Operation Aborted". This error is occuring randomly, not very frequently.

I am looking for the right fixture of this issue. I implement the following fixes, but all in vain yet

Fix1: I checked the code and verify the java script that wouldn't be calling in any child tag of html, and move the script code on the top or bottom of aspx page, if found any, but no result.

Fix2: I ran the SP1 for IE6.0 but no fruitful result as well.

Fix3: Tried to implement property of DEFER in the script tag, no result.

Is there any other possible way to fix that issue? As Microsoft officials already said that they fix this issue in IE8.0 beta, which will now generate the proper script error message rather than wipping out the .aspx page in a half way.

Since i don't know what your script looks like, or what it's doing, this answer is just a stab in the dark: ensure that any script which modifies the DOM is triggered from an onload handler.

I seem to get the same thing on Micrsofts MSDN Library from time to time, but ussually clearing the temp internet files sorts it, but not always, which is annoying.

Hi,

I have to Show a popup, for that i am using ModalPopupExtender Control.
The TargetControlID for ModalPopupExtender i gave 'Button1'.

I have an event in that Button1.(Button1_Click)

By Clicking on Button ,First i have run that ButtonClick event then the result i should display in PopupExtender.

I can't give TargetControlID for ModalPopupExtender other than 'Button1'

How to do this with out using any ConfirmButtonExtender.

Please Sugeest me,

Don't confuse "AJAX" with "ASP.NET AJAX" - the former is a handy cleaning powder and useful technique for creating interactive web pages; the latter belongs in The ASP.NET Forum[^].

Install FireBug and check the error console.

Poor formatting aside, I'm curious as to why there is an else as the last statement in the function?

It's also not going to help having an accented character in the HTML:

That's actually the fault of the CP forum software - it subtly corrupts JS event handler names to prevent them from being used in the actual post HTML.

I order some info from the user Like : username & Password
And when the user click a button
I need to make a "Sub" request to another page in other site
like thie "www.KOKO.com?username=xxx&Password=xxx"
and the above link will return a result "Yes" Or "NO"
how can i read this result in the button handler .

Notice : you may tell me that this way is very strange or silly
but the problem is that the site "KOKO" That I interact with
order me to follow this way because they don't have WebService To be used

You may find that users will be rather surprised if you start sending their usernames and passwords to another domain (and with good reason). The fact that the other site doesn't give a mechanism to do this also suggests that it may not be a good idea. If you have control over the koko site, you'd probably be better off implementing a robust authentication system (or hosting the application on that domain/machine).

If you do that request from the client, what you'd be doing is handing off authentication control to the client, which means it's very insecure (ie. you trust the client to send the request to the right place, and you trust that the "Yes" answer isn't just made up by modifying the client script). Really don't do this.

To do it on the server side would allow some control over the authentication, but the method to do it would depend on what languages and technologies you use on the server side. Essentially all you'd be doing is a GET request with the parameters as sent from the user, and checking the response for Yes/No.

the problem is that I don't have Any control in KOKO Site .
They told me to use this URL To InterAct With Them " www.koko.com?username=xxx&password=xxx "
And the koko site will return
1 for yes
or
0 for No

(I know it is very silly but beleive me there is no way Cry | :((
