You can only do that when using window.open to open a new window. Also the status bar can only be removed if the web site is added as a trusted site.

Hi All... Currently i am doing my banking application using ASP.Net,C#, SQL Server2000... i want some technical solution realated securities from you guys as follow..

i already logged to my application by using username and password.. after login page my home page Home.aspx coming on screen.. i have features all like Balance Inquiry, Mini Statement, Last Transaction, Private Banking, Net Banking in my Home Page in left menu side. All Features are working very well.. For Security Reason i want some technical help from all of you guys...

Problem is After my successful login page If i not touch the Home page or if i not click on any features available in home page for 10 minutes.. Like if i click on Balance Inquiry Link after 10 minutes that time Page Login.aspx want to open instead of BalanceInquiry.aspx... After my successful login by username and password i want to open page BalanceInquiry.aspx (do not want open Home.aspx Page Again)... For that what i have to do in my Application to make more secure... if u have any articles link then please send me..

Please Please Help me if you people have some technical solution... Bcz right now i am on mid way of that project... if u have any articles or articles link please help me out....

Set the session timeout to the duration you require, then catch the session_end event in global.asax and redirect the user appropriately.

I have one GridView and in this gv i have two column one is mark-printer other is model-printer.So i done this column like template but i don't know how to do exchanging of data when i doing edit???I mean if i choos for example "HP" i want to see only models for hp not all how to link both controls pleas help me.

Have you used the latest versions of Yahoo mail and Windows Live Mail.

I am wondering which technologies have been used to develop these applications.

I particularly like the fact that I can use Delete key on my keyboard and it deletes the email on the web page. Also, if I right click on an email, I get a customised menu.

Any ideas on the technologies used, and any tutorials on using those technologies.

"Intelligent" Drop Down

I need to create a DDL that is what I would call intelligent. What I mean is that a user could type what they are looking for and the DDL would automatically go to the closest option. It's killing me - I don't know what to call it so I can't find anything online of how to do it. Any help is really appreciated.

You have to define how to determine what option is the closest one. If I for an example type "ice", should it find "mice", "Antarctica", "water", "cold" or "skating"?

Sachin,

The moment you say 'popup window', it is a OS application (iexplore.exe) and hence for security reasons, the builtin features may not be available to you for full manipulation.

However, within your window, you can have a CUSTOM DIV shown and combining it with Browser Opacity features on the rest of the document, you can simulate a inline modal dialog.

Hi,
I am looking for an advice regarding learning new technologies. Currently, I am working with vb.net and asp.net at work and almost bored with same routine loop work. Usually I have spare time at work to learn something new everyday. But the only challenge is “what is the best to learn”. i.e. I want to spent my time learning something useful that is worth spending time on. Recently, I did lot of research on AJAX and in fact used in my most of the projects as well. I found this technology really useful but the only problem I encountered that did find many resources to learn more.

Any Suggestion/Comments will be much appreciated.

i folks,
Consider the following JavaScript function:

function removeParam(str, name)
{
var rgx = new RegExp('(' + name + '=\\w*)|(' + name + '=\\w*;)');
rgx.global = true;
rgx.ignoreCase = true;
var matches = rgx.exec(str);
if(matches == null)
return str;

for(i = 0; i < matches.length; i++)

and the following call:

var cookie = 'vid=39; vid=38; ASPNETSESSION=WHATEVER; vid=39';
alert(removeParam(cookie, 'vid'));

I actually would like to remove "vid=(whatever number)" from the above
string, so that it results in the following string:

ASPNETSESSION=WHATEVER

would someone please helps me to fix the problem? I've got no idea
what's wrong with the above pattern I've written.

Perhaps you should mention what the problem is? It would greatly simplify fixing it... Wink | ;)

I don't think that your replace is working the way you think. At least you should skip the first item in the array, as it contains the entire matched string, not a matched group.

Why don't you just use the RegExp object in a replace?

function removeParam(str, name)<br />

        rgx.ignoreCase = true;<br />
        return str.replace(rgx, '$1');<br />
}

I simplified the expression a bit, and made it aware of the beginning of the string or the separator before the name, so that it doesn't mess up other values. Otherwise removing the "on" property from "on=42; ASPNETSESSION=WHATEVER" would result in "ASPNETSESSI".

Reservation for typos, though. The code is not tested.

I have three web pages here, page A, B and C. When buttons on page A and B are clicked, page C will be displayed. But the displayed contents on page C coming from Page A and B are little bit different. I want to know that page C comes from page A button click or page B button click. I’m thinking about to use static variable to remember which button is clicked. Could you give me suggestion? Thank you so much.
