If the rendering of the page differs between IE 6 and other browsers, it's almost always the other browsers that render the page correctly.
IE 6 incorrectly expands any element to the size of it's content, even when the standard says it shouldn't. This is what is happening in your layout.

Hi folks,
I have this function. The nestcape version works fine but in IE it will toggle to on but not back again. Any ideas?
element is the name of the iframe in my testing (id and name attribute both set to 'edit')
function ToggleEditMode(element) {
if (document.all) {
if (frames[element].document.designMode=="on") {
frames[element].document.designMode="off";
} else {
frames[element].document.designMode="on";
}
} else {
if (document.getElementById(element).contentDocument.designMode=="on") {
document.getElementById(element).contentDocument.designMode="off";
} else {
document.getElementById(element).contentDocument.designMode="on";
}
}
return;
}
Thanks

Hello,
Actually i had made a website that is using IE of Windows,It works perfectly. Now i have to run it on IE of MAC also. but when i am opening my website on MAC's IE it shows totally wrong. means all the formatting displays too badly. and also the hidden controls are appears in MAC IE .
I think, for that we have to make some changes in the HTML tags of the .aspx pages. so if u can give me any example or any link that will show me the diffrence of code for MAC IE and Window IE , it will be great help for me .
Thanks & Regards...

Your website is not using IE ...
But anways, you should first try and write your markup so that it validates with validator.w3.org
That should minimize the differences. Then you revise your markup as it is quite possible that it is a total garbage judging from the fact that basicly the same browsers shows the page totaly different... btw: have you tried opening your page with Firefox or Opera?
The bottom line is: you must have used some heavy hacks and invalid markup to get this kind of results... but please use the validator first!

If you use clear asp.net tags (no self-invented tags or html tags you write out in labels etc) then it should show the same on mac as pc's IE (all my applications do so), only thing i had is that some colours showed wrong (but that's because they were not web-safe).

I'm not sure you'll be able to do this through the browser 'cause of security restrictions...

Hello everybody. I use IIS. I have mysql database and PHP. but I cannot run PHPMyAdmin from IIS. how can I run it.

phpMyAdmin is a normal php page, so if you know how to view a PHP page that is inside your www root folder, then you know how to view phpMyAdmin.

Hi,
You can type "http://localhost/[^]" and then you will see as following:
Tools
phpinfo( )
PHPmyadmin 2.8.2.4
SQLitemanager 1.2.0
By clicking on that PHPmyadmin 2.8.2.4 you may see the myAdmin page or you can also type:
http://localhost/phpmyadmin/[^]
in internet explorer too.

Is it just me or can everyone else see the 5 rogue posts from the "Asp" thread that show at the top of this forum - and have done since May 11... have I missed some post about this as to why it can't be / hasn't been cleared up?
cheers

It might be due to the fact that it was a strange post and the computer didn't know how to handle it.

Or the original message was deleted and parallel universes (not serial universes, that would be weird) collided and created a wormhole into CP. Okay, now I'm in way over my head.

Hello,
Can anyone tell me why this does not work in FireFox?
<script language="javascript">
window.parent["myiframe"].location.href = window.parent["myiframe"].location.href = 'http://www.mysite.com';
</script>
This script is being called from LinkButton in another IFRAME window. It's works prefectly in IE and I don't like that.
Thank you for the help.

Why not just:
window.parent["myiframe"].location.href = 'http://www.mysite.com';
??

Yes I agree that, but for IE to work that is how I had to do it for some reason.
However I have tested Firefox as well with the example you provided. I was doing some reading and even tried:
window.parent.frames["myiframe"].location.href = 'http://www.mysite.com';
and that did not work either.
It's almost like Firefox is ignoring window.parent
