I'm going to describe my propblem the best i can, i dont know how clear it will come out.
I have a page where i want to edit information i have in a data table. however, i first must search for the particular row i want to edit. To do this, i have a textbox where the user can enter "field1" and then click a button called "search" which redirects them to a search page. field1 is passed using response.redirect to a textbox on the search page. a datagrid is generated from the value inside the textbox. to my datagrid, i added a select hyperlink to choose a specific row from the table (for each "field1" there can be multiple rows). when i click the select hyperlink in the datagrid i want it to redirect back to the edit page, but this time with more than just one field. I would like it to redirect back with a value for field1 and field2 where field2 is the primary key of the data table and is used on the edit page to generate a datagrid.
my problem is that i can not get the hyperlink to pass two values. when i add the new column to my datagrid and choose it to be a hyperlink, i tried entering two datafields in the "get url form datafield" option. ex: field2,field1. for the "url format string" i used ~/edit.aspx?field2={0}&field1={0}. i think there is a flaw in my syntax because when this is executed by the page, the value passed for field2 and field1 are the same even though they should be different numbers.
If anyone could understand that, i'd appreciate any info either about my syntax or a better way to go about handleing my problem.
Thanks

"url format string" i used ~/edit.aspx?field2={0}&field1={0}.
I think it should be
String.Format("/edit.aspx?field2={0}&field1={1}", VALUE1, VALUE2)

Hi everyone!
Is there any way to reliably track Mozilla's text zoom?
As a half-measure, I track Ctrl-+ keypress, but it doesn't work (ofcourse...) when user selects Text Zoom from the menu.
Any solution?
Best regards,
Dmitry.

Ok I have got my page to display the data I need using a store procedure etc. What I need to know is, how do I create an input text form box (IE: Enter ID here with a submit button and pass that variable to the (ident = 1) below to make it (ident = textboxvariable). Any help would be appreciated thanks! =)
<%Dim ident
'select your product_id
ident = 1
Dim connection
Dim rs
'create the connection
connection = Server.CreateObject("adodb.connection")
'create the connection (here we used a DSN - use any standard connection
connection.open("Driver={SQL Server};Server=X;Database=trd;Uid=X;Pwd=X;")
'create the recordset
rs = Server.CreateObject("adodb.recordset")
'open the recordset, passing in the variable
'note that the variable product_id does not have to be name the same as in the stored procedure, it just needs to be the same data type.
rs.Open("Exec GETID " & ident, connection)
'display the recordset
Do Until rs.EOF
For Each ident In rs.Fields
Response.Write(ident.value & "<br />")
Next
Response.Write("<br />")
rs.MoveNext()
Loop
rs.close()
connection.close()%>

Edit my thread by replacing those SWF filenames with the filename of your image files. Note, if you want it cross-platform, then google for alternative scripts.

Sorry for delay comming back to you, have you looked at any of the sample programs/scripts at www.asp.net I seem to recall an ad-rotator there (or was it at microsoft's atlas web site/web blog (can't remember - sorry)).

Hi! I am SAMIR. iwrote a html page using qooxdoo as ....
<title>Untitled Page
window.application.main = function()
{
var d = this.getClientWindow().getClientDocument();
var insCmd = new QxCommand("Ctrl+Insert");
insCmd.addEventListener("execute", function(e){alert("Ctrl+Insert");});
var delCmd = new QxCommand("Ctrl+Del");
delCmd.addEventListener("execute", function(e){alert("Ctrl+Del");});
var escCmd = new QxCommand("Esc");
escCmd.addEventListener("execute", function(e){alert("Esc");});
var contextMenu;
function createMenu()
{
contextMenu = new QxMenu();
var insMenuBtn = new QxMenuButton("Add New Document",
"scripts/themes/icons/crystalsvg/16/apply.png", insCmd);
var delMenuBtn = new QxMenuButton("Detach This Document",
"scripts/themes/icons/crystalsvg/16/edit-delete.png", delCmd);
var lnMenuSptr = new QxMenuSeparator();
var escMenuBtn = new QxMenuButton("Exit", "scripts/themes/icons/crystalsvg/16/exit.png",
escCmd);
contextMenu.add(insMenuBtn,delMenuBtn,lnMenuSptr,escMenuBtn);
d.add(contextMenu);
};
function showMenu()

Perhaps if you call "createMenu" instead of "createMenus".

to remove all the header and footer of the print out of my webpage using java script solutions
is there any idea please help me

There is an easy way of doing this with CSS, if its any help.
If your header and footers are enclosed in a div tag, eg <div id="header">
You can specify a stylesheet for print output which can hide required divs.
In the head of the page put
<style type="text/css" media="print" src="print.css">
In your print.css file (or whatever you want to call it)
#Header, #Footer{
display:none;
}
The header and footer will still be displayed on screen, but will not be printed. This is also useful for hiding sidebars, navigation etc.
Words fade as the meanings change, but somehow, it don't bother me.display:nione

Ok first, I'll outline my project. It is a web application made to search and display records of archived technical documents. What I have right now is a page that uses datagrids (via drag and drop from Visual Studio 2005) to display columns of data from my SQL Test server.
What I need now is a way to create a simple form text box and create and pass a variable to the SELECT statement within the datagrids. All my attempts at this thus far, using both ASP and C# and MSDN knowledgebase, have ended in frustration.
Here is the code of the datagrid:
<asp:GridView ID="GridView1" runat="server" AutoGenerateColumns="False"
DataSourceID="SqlDataSource1" EmptyDataText="There are no data records to display.">
<Columns>
<asp:BoundField DataField="OVERVIEW" HeaderText=" " SortExpression="OVERVIEW" />
</Columns>
</asp:GridView>
<asp:SqlDataSource ID="SqlDataSource1" runat="server" ConnectionString="
<%ConnectionStrings:trdConnectionString2 %>"
ProviderName="<%$ ConnectionStrings:trdConnectionString2.ProviderName %>"
SelectCommand="SELECT [OVERVIEW] FROM [SUDS_TRD] WHERE [IDENT]='1'">
</asp:SqlDataSource>
What I need to do is where it says [IDENT]='1', is have that "1" be a parameter passed from an HTML form, perhaps looking like this WHERE [IDENT]='"% strIDENT %"', yet I do not know how to pass a parameter from an HTML form into that SELECT statement. Any help would be great as this is a problem holding up my project.
To reiterate, I need to:
A. create an html form text box
B. pass that textbox as a variable
C. place that variable into the SELECT statement for the ASP datagrid.
Any help would be great, example code, whatever it takes; the simpler the better =) Please just don't send me to MSDN's Datagrid Knowledge Base page as 1/2 the stuff there doesn't even work =[.
Thanks for any help in advance!

Soot,
A couple questions, do you get static(unchanging) data populated in your datagrid as it is? Do you want the end user to enter a variable into the text box to repopulate the datagrid?
As I understand what you've given so far you're going to need a text box, which you can drag and drop where you want it; a button with an OnClick event that will take the text and initiate the SQL statement, you can d&d the button and set the name of the event on the Design screen but the functionality has to be set on the code behind(aspx) page.
I'm fairly new to this myself but I've been working with datagrids for a while and maybe I can help.
