It depends. Based on own experience,
For .NET - MVC
For PHP - I don't know(never worked). But based on release dates .... CakePHP, Nette, Joomla, Ayoola,.,

Hi again Experts,
I have another problem that is stumping me.
The code below loads in a jQuery tab called ExistingRequests.
"aoColumns" : [
{ "mDataProp": "RequestID", "sWidth": "50px", sSortable: true,
"bSearchable": false,
"bSortable": false,
"fnRender": function (oObj)
{
return "<a target='tab' data-tab-name='#RequestDetails' data-tab-index='2' href='viewdetails.php?requestID="
+ oObj.aData["RequestID"] + "'> " + oObj.aData["RequestID"] + " </a>";
}
},
{ mDataProp: "RequestDate", "sWidth": "100px", sSortable: true },
{ mDataProp: "RequestorFullName", "sWidth": "150px", sSortable: true },
{ mDataProp: "PrimarySiteContactDisplay", "sWidth": "250px", sSortable: true },
{ mDataProp: "RequestLocation", "sWidth": "150px", sSortable: true },
{ mDataProp: "RequestDescription", "sWidth": "200px", sSortable: true },
{ mDataProp: "RequestStatus", "sWidth": "100px", sSortable: true },
],
This is of course relevant code.
The code above also has a RequestID that is hyperlinked.
When a user clicks that link, detailed records associated with that link is displayed on another tab called RequestDetails. (Thanks in large part to Richard Deeming).
The problem is that when the data loads into RequestDetails tab, it loads as json data.
We wanted to it load as html form fields with values.
The code below is supposed to help resolve this problem but it doesn't work.
When you click the link, nothing happens.
Can someone please tell what I and doing wrong?
The code below was originally written by Richard Deeming and it would open in RequestDetails tab as stated but after the changes, it longer loads data in RequestDetails tab when clicked.
Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
$("#exmple").on("click", "a[target='tab']", function(){
var me = $(this);
var url = me.attr("href");
var tabName = me.data("tabName");
var tabIndex = parseInt(me.data("tabIndex"), 10);
$.get( url, function( data ) {
var table = $( '<table cellpadding="4" cellspacing="0" border="1"/>' ),
tr = $( '<tr/>' ),
td = $( '<td/>' ),
th = $( '<th/>' );
tr.clone().html( th.text( 'Time' ) )
.append( th.clone().text( 'Room' ) )
.append( th.clone().text( '???' ) )
.append( th.clone().text( '???' ) )
.appendTo( table );
$.each( data.aaData, function(i,v) {
tr.clone().html( td.clone().html( v[0] ) )
.append( td.clone().html( v[1] ) )
.append( td.clone().html( v[2] ) )
.append( td.clone().html( v[3] ) )
.appendTo( table );
});
$( tabName ).html( table );
$("#tabs").tabs("option", "active", tabIndex);
}, 'json' );
return false;
});

Dear All,
I have a big problem to solve now.
My website is integrated with payment gateway and while I submitted payment to their server, their back-end server did not reply the StatusURL to my front-end at all.
When I asked them to check then they said that it got error as below:
java.io.IOException: Server returned HTTP response code: 403 for URL: http://example.com/...
at sun.net.www.protocol.http.HttpURLConnection.getInputStream(Unknown Source)
at TestMerchantStatusURL.sendHttpRequestByPost(TestMerchantStatusURL.java:48)
at TestMerchantStatusURL.main(TestMerchantStatusURL.java:23)
how to fix this problem?
Best Regards,

403 means that you have no access right to the provided URL. It may be due some security or that you are pointing to some folder with no browse access or many many other things...
The best is to the company runs the payment system to help you out...

I'm designing a web application to for users to input and retrieve data. The data is stored in a sql database. I need help coding the search button to retrieve the data and display in grid view based on search criteria. I can't get the data to display with my current code. PLEASE HELP!!
Here is my code:
Imports System.Windows.Forms
Partial Class ExisitingApplication
Inherits System.Web.UI.Page
Protected Sub btnSearch_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnSearch.Click
If Me.txtLastN.Text = "" Then
Dim erMsg As Windows.Forms.DialogResult = MessageBox.Show("Must enter Last Name.", "Search", MessageBoxButtons.OK)
End If
Dim str As String = ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings("SqlDataSource1").ToString
Dim strUSRACCESS As String = "SELECT FirstName, LastName, SSN from tblMAGIapplications where (FirstName = @FirstName and LastName = @LastName) or (SSN = @SSN) "
Dim USRconn1 As New Data.SqlClient.SqlConnection(str)
Dim CMD As New Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand(strUSRACCESS, USRconn1)
Dim drUSR As Data.SqlClient.SqlDataReader = (0)
USRconn1.Open()
CMD.Parameters.AddWithValue("@FirstName", Me.txtFirstN.Text)
CMD.Parameters.AddWithValue("@LastName", Me.txtLastN.Text)
GridView1.DataSourceID = String.Empty
GridView1.DataBind()
USRconn1.Close()
End Sub
End Class

You say you "can't get the data to display," but you haven't described what the problem is. And you haven't asked a specific question about that problem.
The difficult we do right away...
...the impossible takes slightly longer.
|

With the code I post I'm not necessarily getting an error message. For example, when I enter the last name as a search option it's just not returning any data. There is data in the database, and the connection is there.

Well you are not executing your query.
If you did execute the query, you would get an exception, because you commented out that part of the code.
And you are not doing anything with the resultset, if any, that would have been returned by your query.
That's all I got unless you can provide more information about your problem.

The only problem is not getting the data to display in the a grid view after search button is selected. Please tell me what other information I can provide you with that will help.

No that is not your only problem. Did you go fix the 3 problems you was already told about?

Quote: GridView1.DataSourceID = String.Empty
GridView1.DataBind() You told it there is no datasource.

That's not going to work in an ASP.NET application. If you're lucky, the MessageBox.Show call will throw an error because the process is not interactive. If you're not lucky, the message box will be displayed on the server, where nobody will ever see it, and your page will time out.
It might appear to work when you're running the site from Visual Studio, but that's only because the server and client happen to be the same computer in that case.
Add a RequiredFieldValidator [^] to the txtLastN textbox, and change the start of your method to:
If Not Page.IsValid Then
Return
End If
As to the data-binding problem, as others have mentioned, you'll need to execute the query and bind the results to your grid. You should also wrap the connection, command and data-reader objects in Using blocks to ensure that they get cleaned up as soon as they're no longer needed.
Protected Sub btnSearch_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnSearch.Click
If Not Page.IsValid Then
Return
End If
Dim connectionString As String = ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings("SqlDataSource1").ConnectionString
Dim commandText As String = "SELECT FirstName, LastName, SSN from tblMAGIapplications where (FirstName = @FirstName and LastName = @LastName) or (SSN = @SSN)"
Using conn As New Data.SqlClient.SqlConnection(connectionString)
Using cmd As New Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand(commandText, conn)
cmd.Parameters.AddWithValue("@FirstName", Me.txtFirstN.Text)
cmd.Parameters.AddWithValue("@LastName", Me.txtLastN.Text)
cmd.Parameters.AddWithValue("@SSN", 0)
Using reader As Data.SqlClient.SqlDataReader = cmd.ExecuteReader(CommandBehavior.CloseConnection)
GridView1.DataSource = reader
GridView1.DataBind()
End Using
End Using
End Using
End Sub

There are lots of jQuery plugins that will do this. I have used jQuery UI to do drag and drop. See https://jqueryui.com/draggable/[^]

The project is divided into two parts:
- The informative part of the project will give a big part of the best recent important news and articles, selected by trusted volunteer project masters.
- A real-time chat communication via text, with dedicated channels for certain topics, moderated by respected members of the project and a super bot.
The whole design is well thought in its operating functions. Of about 2000 people I talked to personally who gave their opinion, almost all stated the need for project’s existence.

Hello RyanDev,
Thank you for your reply!
Please let me know if you would like to help finishing this project. We need people with development skills.
Or some voluntary organisation helping on the promotion of the ideas

Hi mates,
I hope this is the right forum for this question:
I have three tabs shown below:
<div id="tabs">
<ul>
<li><a href="#NewRequest">New Request</a></li>
<li><a href="#ExistingRequest">Existing Request</a></li>
<li><a href="#RequestDetails">Request Details</a></li>
</ul>
...
...
</div>
NewRequest tab is used to create new requests and insert them into the database. This works fine.
ExistingRequest tab is used to display the requests that were created on NewRequest tab. The code below is used for displaying these existing records on ExistingRequest tab.
This works fine as well.
My problem is that one of the cells, called RequestID cell is hyperlinked.
The idea is that when you click on this hyperlinked RequestID, we would like detailed records associated with this RequestID to open up inside RequestDetails tab.
Any idea how to get this to work?
There is a php file called viewDetails.php. This file will query the db and get detail records where RequestID = the RequestID being passed from ExistingRequests tab.
<script type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8">
$(document).ready(function() {
$("#example").dataTable( {
"sProcessing" : true,
"sDom":'T<"clear">',
"sJQueryUI": true,
"sPaginationType": "full_numbers",
"sDom": 'T<"clear"><"fg-toolbar ui-widget-header ui-corner-tl ui-corner-tr ui-helper-clearfix"lfr>t<"fg-toolbar ui-widget-header ui-corner-bl ui-corner-br ui-helper-clearfix"ip>',
"sAjaxSource" : "userDetails.php?loginName=<?php echo $user; ?>",
"sAjaxDataProp" : "",
"sDestroy" : false,
"sScrollXInner": "110%",
"fnServerData" : function(sSource, aoData, fnCallback) {
request = $.ajax({
"dataType" : "json",
"type" : "GET",
"url" : sSource,
"data" : aoData,
"success" : fnCallback
});
},
"aoColumns" : [
{ "mDataProp": "RequestID", "sWidth": "50px", sSortable: true,
"bSearchable": false,
"bSortable": false,
"fnRender": function (oObj)
{
return "<a href='viewdetails.php?RequestID="
+ oObj.aData["RequestID"] + "'> " + oObj.aData["RequestID"] + " </a>";
}
},
{ mDataProp: "RequestDate", "sWidth": "100px", sSortable: true },
{ mDataProp: "RequestorFullName", "sWidth": "150px", sSortable: true },
{ mDataProp: "PrimarySiteContactDisplay", "sWidth": "250px", sSortable: true },
{ mDataProp: "RequestLocation", "sWidth": "150px", sSortable: true },
{ mDataProp: "RequestDescription", "sWidth": "200px", sSortable: true },
{ mDataProp: "RequestStatus", "sWidth": "100px", sSortable: true },
],
})
$('#cityworks tbody tr').click(function () {
if ($(this).hasClass('selected')) $(this).removeClass('selected');
else
{
$(this).siblings('.selected').removeClass('selected');
$(this).addClass('selected');
}
});
$(window).bind('resize', function () {
oTable.fnAdjustColumnSizing();
});
jQuery('.dataTable').wrap('<div class="scrollStyle" />');
});
</script>
Specifically, within the code I posted, this bit below is the hyperlinked RequestID.
When this is clicked, we would like it to open viewDetails.php file inside RequestDetails tab
return "<a href='viewdetails.php?RequestID="
+ oObj.aData["RequestID"] + "'> " + oObj.aData["RequestID"] + " </a>";
Any ideas how to handle this?
Thanks a lot in advance

You need a way to identify the hyperlink:
return "<a target='tab' data-tab-name='#RequestDetails' data-tab-index='2' href='viewdetails.php...
You can then use standard jQuery event handling to load the data into the tab:
$("#example").on("click", "a[target='tab']", function(){
var me = $(this);
var url = me.attr("href");
var tabName = me.data("tabName");
var tabIndex = parseInt(me.data("tabIndex"), 10);
$(tabName).load(url, function(){
$("#tabs").tabs("option", "active", tabIndex);
});
return false;
});
