Try something like this:
<script>
function verifyMe(){
numberCount=0
for(i=0;i<document.myform.myname.value.length;i++){
j=i+1
mychar=document.myform.myname.value.substring(i,j)
if((0 <= mychar)&&(mychar <= 9)){
numberCount++;
}
}
if((numberCount == 0)&&(document.myform.myname.value.length > 0)){
document.myform.submit()
}else{
alert('please check your form')
}
}
</script>
<form name=myform action=nexpage.asp>
<input type=text name=myname>
<input type=button onClick=verifyMe() value=Submit>
</form>

I have an XP test machine. I have an ASP.NET web on it and an ASP web on it. The ASP.NET web is working fine but the ASP is not, just get 'Page cannot be displayed' error every time a try to browse a page. Both webs are set up the same in IIS. I can view static html pages in the ASP web with no problems.

Hello, people!
I know it was asked many times, but I haven't the decision yet.
The situation:
I have 3 frames, f1, f2 and f3. f3 has a link with code:
<a href='javascript:f1.func1();'>Smth.</a>
f1.func1() makes the form in f2, with one input field, and sets focus to the field. This all works ok. I need to catch the enter and arrows keys, therefore I catch onKeyUp event. The code for it:
<input name='name' id='1-12' type='text' class='input' onKeyUp='t1.keyLinePressed(event.keyCode,this);' onClick='t1.selField(this.id)' onBlur='if (this.value==0)t1.keyLinePressed(13,this);' onChange='t1.keyLinePressed(13,this);'>
The selField function sets the focus to the field using the:
timer=setTimeout("t2.form."+name+".focus();t2.form."+name+".select();",100);
where the name is a name of the input field.
It works fine too. The keyLinePressed() function rises up every time I push a key.
The code catches next situations:
1) When user clicks the link again (form already has the input field) system do nothing, only back the focus to the field.
2) When user pushes Enter key with wrong inputs system alerts him and also backs the focus to the field.
And here is the problem:
the focus moves back, and selects the text inputed, user can type new digits, BUT the onKeyUp doesn't rise! If I move focus by pressing TAB button - the onChange rises.
I didn't found the answer here in the conference. I don't know what to do.
Any Ideas?
Thanx

height="187px" repeatcolumns="3" showfooter="False" showheader="False">
<itemtemplate>
<asp:linkbutton id="LBGrpShr" runat="server"

"gcode") %>" causesvalidation="False">
<%# DataBinder.Eval(Container.DataItem, "gsharh") %>
-----------------------------------
and this Event Function for ItemCommand Event:
------------------------------------
private void MainGrpsList_ItemCommand
(object source, System.Web.UI.WebControls.DataListCommandEventArgs e)
{
switch(e.CommandName.ToUpper())
{
case "MAINGRP":
TargetGrpcode=e.CommandArgument.ToString();

Hi, can i know how to autopostback my when the content in my textbox is changed without waiting for another event to happen?
|
|
|
|
|
hi
set autopostback to true
and
do your code in On TextChenged Event Function.
|
|
|
|
|
I am trying to make a textbox that fires an event every time a user type in something into it. The TextBox class has a TextChanged event fired everytime a user write something in the textbox and press enter or click somewhere.. Is there anyway that the TextBox will fire an event as soon as after the user type something and it doesn't wait for an Enter key to be pressed or being clicked somewhere for that event to be fired..
If you have any idea, i would appreciate to hear it..
Thanking you in advance....

whats ur mean?
let see :
i come as user. click on textbox and press a key.
now u want the postback fiers or any thing else?
|
|
|
|
|
The scenario is: my textbox is for the user to enter Year (4-digit). After the user enter the year, i want the postback to occur immediately instead of waiting for another event to happen.
My problem now is that after i enter the year in the textbox and click a button, the event handler for the button was not executed, but the event handler for the textbox was executed instead. So i was tinking if there is any way i can avoid this..

Is there a way to set the header and footer by code, when you print a HTML page from IE? Manually you can set it from File >> page setup. Thanks.

Check out this article: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnie55/html/beyondprintpreview.asp[^]
I think this will help. I know there is a way to do it but I haven't worked with it myself, one of the developers I worked with did all his report printing with HTML and customizing IE print formatting.

I am fairly new to ASP.Net but getting the hang of it. I began to build a web site for a family member that they needed for personal reasons that would basically be a "family site" for sisters and brothers not in the state. What is desired is a way for this person to be able to update the text and pictures on the page(s) through thier web browser. They do not have any programming experience at all so them editing the pages then ftping them over is a no go.
What would be the best way go to about haveing a page they could edit the text/pictures on that page yet not allow those visiting the site to see the controls on that page for editing? I have thought of several ways to do this but my experience in this is mainly HTML and static web design. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated!

so why did you choose to use ASP.NET?
Why dont you just use an open source cms such as phpnuke or dotnetnuke?

Is database use an option?
If so I would do something like this.
Your site is going to a certain page which loads the texts and images from a database.
Create another page (with login?) that has some textboxes or stuff like that where your family members can alter the text. When submitted you update the database and it should work?
You can google on keywords like content management.
Make sure you design it right. In edit mode what is the current text, where will the new one appear etc...
Good luck.

In scriptlet program,you don't get the retrieving value.
you can set the retrieving value to a html tag element dynamically.then in process page,you can get this value.
so that...
You are the best!Me too!

I know that in PHP you can change the maximum for the uploaded file size by editing the php.ini file. Does anyone know how to do this in Perl? I think right now my max is 2 meg. It would be great if I could bump this up a little bit.

Dear Sirs,
I am using createDocumentFromUrl to obtain data from the web, which is
called several times (>100) for the application I am attempting.
I receive the following IE message when making this call:
This page has an unspecified potential security flaw. Would you like to
continue.
Is there any way to prgramatically surpress this message?
Note that when using the same url in IE directly (rather than from VB), I do
not get any error / warning messages.
Thanks
JC
