I'm using doctype:

This is what is set by MS-Visual Studio. From what I have been reading today Firefox is more to the standard. It's weird that it looks perfect in Visual Studio and IE, but not Firefox. I'm not sure how to adjust or fix it.

Try a more recent standard. Even HTML 4.01 should be a noticeable improvement.

Hi ,
I am developing a JSP tag library to render a HTML table. But I am not able to find a proper solution to have scroll bars in table.
I have checked the out following solution:

But problem here is:
-I need to use different CSS for each browser
- When I resize the page it doesn't look..table header stays at particular place.
However I could fix the header in IE with a promising level but the same doesn't work in Firefox.
Another appraoch I tried is splitting the table in three seperate tables , one for header, one for body and one for footer, but there again alignment issues are there.
If anybody has worked on this please share your views.

If the client computer is in the same local network as the server, and if you place the file in a folder that is shared so that the server has access to it, you can copy a file to the server using FSO. Otherwise not.

I have a web page with a asp:checklistbox object. I have buttons to "check all" checkboxes; however, to avoid the roundtrip back to the server, I was wondering if I could use jscript to set the checkboxes in the client.
The problem I have is how do I access all of the checkboxes that get automatically generated by the checklistbox?
If I can access all the checklistboxes of the form then I could set their value to checked.

I can't remember exactly how I did this, but I can tell you the steps to discover it.
* Look at the output of the webpage - That is, look at source that you get in the browser.
* Examine the IDs of the checkboxes in the list and see how they compare to the name you gave the asp:checklistbox (IIRC they will have something appended to the name, and perhaps something prefixed if it is contained in another control)
* Write some javascript to use the pattern you have discovered.

Hi all,
Hope someone out there can help me with this one 
I have multiple web sites which i want to place ads on... I want to hold the ads on a single database which all sites can access.
So I created the database and a banner.asp page which displays a random ad, works perfectly!
I then attempted, from another web site, to call the banner.asp with the #include virtual.... there was the problem.... I found you can only #include within the same web site.
Does anyone know how I could get around this issue... as I do not want to have a database on each website. Just the ability to 'call' an ad from a central database on another web site.
All advice is welcomed...

Hi there, having trouble with a menu in dhtml.
basically the javasript function is simple it displays the menu or closes it depending on mouseover or mouseout. the only thing is that the menu closes before you can get a chance to make a selection from the menu items. (ie its closing the menu when the mouse moves of the top line of the menu.. as opposed to the whole of the menu) any help gratefully received!

How to capture events in the javascript file that are fired from a dll?
Event source – A dll created as an ATL control object
Event Handler - javascript file.
Instance of object is created in the javascript file using ActiveXObject(ComponentName.ClassName).Through this instance I can access methods written in the dll.
Using Object Tag in HTML file works fine. But don't know how to handle events in the Javascript file.

Then, you want to study the DTD for HTML at HTML 4 Document Type Defintion which contains the DTD for HTML 4.01. This provifes a context-free grammar definition in terms of the structure of HTML 4.01 and should suit your needs quite well since most of it is in Backus-Naur form.

I am currently trying to follow the Que Publishing exam guide to the Microsoft Exam 70-320.
I followed the guide to a t, but when I try to add a web reference to my server side soap extension it gives me the following error:-
An error occurred during the parsing of a resource required to service this request. Please review the following specific parse error details and modify your source file appropriately.
Parser Error Message: Could not load type 'BugTracker.Global'.
Source Error:
Line 1: <%@ Application Codebehind="Global.asax.cs" Inherits="WebService1.Global" %>
Source File: f:\inetpub\wwwroot\70-320\320C05\BugTracker\global.asax Line: 1
I have even tried creating a perfectly fresh web service created by visual studio and still get the same error when I try to use a web reference to it. I have also tried removing "BugTracker.Global" and replacing it with "Global" but to no avail. All my namespaces are correct as well.
Does anyone have any ideas how I may rectify this error as it is driving me mad!

HI, say for example we have a table with 3 columns in a row.
say the html for one row looks like this
hiIn IE this will automaticly span the column over 3 columns to match the rest of the rows. Now, I guess ideally you would youse the colspan attribute like this...
