Hello laddie,
I followed the steps you shared to me, but here in my machine the "IP address and domain name restrictions" button is disabled.
And as of this moment I am only using a workstation (Not Server) for testing before configuring my file at the web server.
But why is it, the button here is disabled. And my user type is "Administrator"
I can't test until I can get into the "IP address and domain name restrictions"
What do you think is the problem?

That is strange?. Which OS does your WS run ?.Is your account part of any domain ?

One of the workstationss that i tested here is part of the domain. And the other pc is not part of the domain. Both PCs here has Administrator privilege. And both are Windows XP.
I was puzzled also if why does the button is disabled.

Why not try reinstalling the IIS

yes, that's my plan too. I will just reinstall the IIS here.
Thanks

Hello All!
Working with ASP.net, but this part is HTML.
I have this line of code
<asp:HyperLink runat="server" ID="HyperLink1" Text='<%# Eval("First_Name") %>' NavigateUrl='<%# Eval("Order_ID", "Details.aspx?Order_Id={0}") %>' > </asp:HyperLink>
I have been reading how to open a new browser window. But how would I write it so I can open a new window with the above link?
Thanks!

I can't see any code. Use the "Ignore HTML" option when you are posting markup code.

Sorry about that.
<code><asp:HyperLink runat="server" ID="HyperLink1" Text='<%# Eval("First_Name") %>' NavigateUrl='<%# Eval("Order_ID", "Details.aspx?Order_Id={0}") %>' > </asp:HyperLink></code>
Thanks!

How can I programmatically check whether a domain name is available? I found an ASP.NET script that checks by looking up the name in a whois server, but in my case I want to check thousands of domain name in a very short time (as short as possible or in other words I want to use bulk queries). Please note that I only want to know whether the name is available or not, I don't care who owns it or want the contact details of owner (ie. I don't care about the details returned from whois servers). Is it possible to use DNS for that instead of WHOIS as I read somewhere that there's limit for the number of queries you can make to a WHOIS server. I have googled a lot but can't find what I'm looking for.
Any help is highly appreciated (a few links would be more than excellent)

you can use the following code to check whether a domain exists or not.
Its not completely written by me, got the idea from somewhere else.
public bool CheckDomainExistence(string strDomainName)
{
bool flag = false;
try
{
string hostname = strDomainName;
IPHostEntry IPhst = Dns.GetHostEntry(hostname);
IPEndPoint endPt = new IPEndPoint(IPhst.AddressList[0], 25);
Socket s = new Socket(endPt.AddressFamily,
SocketType.Stream, ProtocolType.Tcp);
s.Connect(endPt);
flag = true; // If we reached here, it means hostname exists. Otherwise it will throw an exception.
}
catch (Exception)
{
flag = false;
}
return flag;
}

hi there
i have two asp script files following.
problem is
first page has been redirected and session("test") variable was empty.
is that a bug?
a.asp
<%
Session.abandon
session("test")="foo"
response.Redirect "b.asp"
%>
b.asp
<%
response.write session("test")
%>
|
|
|
|
|
No, it's not a bug. It does exactly what you told it to do.
The Session.Abandon method marks the session to be abandoned when the request finishes. Anything that you put in that session object will go away when the session object goes away.

I am getting errors trying to load a page with ReportViewer object on it. Runs ok on my pc.
*checks server*
Our test server has Business Objects XI installed, as well as IIS.
The version of the CrystalDecisions assemblies are 11.0.33
*checks pc*
The same assemblies on my PC with Studio, are 10.0.33 and 10.2.36, but when I view that folder remotely from the server before copying, EVERY assembly I see is 11.0.33, just like the local drive.
Should I try copying the files anyway, or is there an installer I should be using?

Set the Page_ValidationActive javascript variable to false in the button's OnClick event.
This works:
In your ASPX (had to remove beginning angle brackets to get it to render on CP ):
<%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeFile="Default.aspx.cs" Inherits="_Default" %>
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" >
<head runat="server">
<title>Untitled Page</title>
</head>
<body>
<form id="form1" runat="server">
<div>
asp:RequiredFieldValidator runat="server" id="rfv" ControlToValidate="txt" ErrorMessage="Error"></asp:RequiredFieldValidator>
asp:TextBox runat="server" ID="txt"></asp:TextBox>
asp:Button runat="server" ID="btn" Text="Go" OnClick="btn_Click" />
</div>
</form>
<script>
function TurnOffVal()
{
Page_ValidationActive = false;
}
</script>
</body>
</html>
And in the code behind:
using System;
using System.Data;
using System.Configuration;
using System.Web;
using System.Web.Security;
using System.Web.UI;
using System.Web.UI.WebControls;
using System.Web.UI.WebControls.WebParts;
using System.Web.UI.HtmlControls;
public partial class _Default : System.Web.UI.Page
{
protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
btn.Attributes.Add("onclick", "TurnOffVal();");
}
protected void btn_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
Response.Redirect("http://www.codeproject.com");
}
}

me how to make a website live. (who says developers don't have humor )
Anyways Assming you have finished developeing your site and want to put it live:
First you'll need a server to deploy your website on (this server should have a permanent connection to the net or your website will be offline when the server is)
Then you'll need to register a domain you want your site to be in eg. http://www.mysite.com , you can do this at www.thatip.com , also before you can register your domain you'll need to find out the IP address of the server mentioned above and find out if it is a dynamic IP static IP, this youll need to setup your ThatIP account (note: if your IP is dynamic you'll need a program like WinIP on the server to keep track of your IP changes)
Once your site is registered and properties set you'll need to deploy the website on the server using a program like apache or IIS(Microsoft: Assuming you have windows XP you must install this from the XP disk as it is not installed by default). look up a muanual on how to deploy your specific web technology on the net there should be one on google. also if you are running a ASP.NET site you'll have to register your class library using the command promt depending on your asp.net version. eg, c:\windows\microsoft.net\framework\[myframeworkversion]\aspnet_regiis.exe /i
Hope this helps
