Hi, im busy making the site: www.fabol.co.za/businesses.aspx.
For the background I am using a div with an so that it will always stretch and fill the width of the screen. The problem is though, that going from one page to another the whole background reloads(loading from top to bottom). I have seen a way in HTML that forces the browser to always reload everything(and not get it from cache), but is there anyway that I can force it to cache in their browser(well, unless they have caching off) so that the background will only have to load once?
Thanks alot!

As your page is an ASP.NET page, can't you use the caching functions availible?
See this article.
Hope this helps,

Hello everybody,
I've written an webservice and a webapplication. The WebService uses "integrated windows-authentication", so I set
WebService.Credentials = new NetworkCredential("username", "pwd"); If I don't, I get an HTTP-Status 401 (AccessDenied). That's all fine and everything works. But now I want to implement an "Logout-Button". The Logout-Function looks like:
WebService.Logout();
Session.Clear();
Session.Abandon();
Application.Clear();
ViewState.Clear(); After calling the Logout-Function I expected, that I'm logged off from the WebService and I expected to get a HTTP-Status 401, when im calling an other webservice function. But I don't! No AccessDenied message. The WebService is still working under the UserContext I set with
WebService.Credentials = new NetworkCredential("username", "pwd") Then I added the line
WebService.Credentials = null; to the Logout-Function. But it doesn't solve the problem.
Is anybody out there who can help me.

OK. I tried and searched and tried and searched... and I get a solution with Asp.Net:
HttpRuntime.Close(); When I call this function, the browser forget Username and Password and brings the HTTP-Status 401.
That's the way i like it. But, is it fine? Can any problems occur?

That is superflous. If you only have one row in the table, the cells can not be anything other than 100% of the table height.
Nika Asgari wrote: and weight=100%
Table cells doesn't have a weight, so I suppose that you mean width. If you have three columns, the only way that one of them can use 100% of the width is if the other two are hidden.

How have you attempted to set the style?

In your div:
<div style="float:left;width:100%;height:600px;position:absolute;overflow:auto;padding:0px;margin:0px;">
get rid of the position: absolute; style, and the overflow should work.

Hi there.
I almost always use Dreamweaver CS3.
I couldn't enable its editor's horizontal scroll bar yet.
Well when I wrote a long line , the rest of line breaks and came down.
But I don't want it.
How can I fix it ?

Do you mean that the text is wrapped? If so go to View -> Code View Options, and uncheck the "word wrap" box.

Multiple users simultaneously? Oh my, I'm sure that's never happened on the internet before...
Your web server will be more than a capable of handling a reasonable number of simultaneous downloads. Yes, bandwidth might be an issue and you should consult the terms of your host to see how much bandwidth you have been allocated and whether you need to increase it.
If you do find you have more downloads than the server/bandwidth can deal with then you may want to consider moving the file to something like Amazon's S3, which will gladly take care of the problem for you. However, unless you are talking about a lot of downloads, or very large downloads, then I don't think this will become an issue.

hi..
Thnkx for telin bout S3 ..that was a gud enough . But is dere some other alternative like diverting the traffic to some other url ...
If yes how wud dat be possible and wud dat actually be a gud idea .

As Johnny ² said, there really is no need unless you have excessive amounts of users trying to access the same file at once.. And yes you could have copies of the file on different servers if this becomes a problem, but this is not usually necessary.

Pretty much most web servers are going to be able to handle multiple downloads. How do you think Firefox did the multi-million downloads in one day? Think about what you are asking.

Hi!!!
Well actually downloads are really goin to be large very high quality image files.
And that is why I am concerned about the issuess like download failure or long server response time ...How can I divert traffic to other url or server ...

So what. You just have people download portions at a time.
Mri1a wrote: How can I divert traffic to other url or server ...
Probably via some load balancing. Which I would read up on if I were you.

Hi All!
Me again, still struggling and grappling with my java applet.
My problemetic code is as follows:
try{ LoginInputStream = new BufferedReader(new FileReader("Login.txt"));
UserNameString = LoginInputStream.readLine().toString();
PassWordString = LoginInputStream.readLine().toString();
LoginInputStream.close(); }
catch(Exception ex) {}
All variables shown here have been correctly declared earlier, and the problem is that as the 'LoginInputStream' BufferedReader reads a file called 'Login.txt' the two string variables that it assigns the results to are not assigned a value at all, despite my toString() conversion!
I have tried it with and without the toString() conversion but the UserNameString and PassWordString values remain firmly as they were declared. (which was null)
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Does the readLine() code execute or does the try statement fail and go onto the catch() branch?

Hi!
The 'try' code definatly executes, I tried this code with and without the toString() part:
try{ LoginInputStream = new BufferedReader(new FileReader("Login.txt"));
UserNameString = LoginInputStream.readLine().toString();
PassWordString = LoginInputStream.readLine().toString();
LoginInputStream.close(); }
catch(Exception ex) { UserNameEntryField.setText("Error"); }
And the UserNameEntryField TextBox remains empty.
Thanks
