Hi to all,
I am using ASP.Net 2008. I want to use functions from my js file(s),containing only functions, in .aspx page(s).
My 'Validate.js' file looks like this,
function isValid() {<br />
alert("isValid called");<br />
}
I want to use this isValid() function in my all .aspx files.
So I tried following code in one of my .aspx file,
<script lanaguage="javascript" type="text/javascript" src="Validate.js"><br />
function Validate(){<br />
isValid();<br />
}<br />
</script>
But it is not working. Doesn't show the alert box.
Can anyone suggest solution for this?
I appreciate any and all comments and suggestions.

Is the path to the JS file correct? Are you actually calling Validate on your page?
Incidentally, you don't need to specify the language parameter.

Hi all,
I have a requirement in C# where in i have a Repeater control. This Repeater Control contains a Radio button in every item template. I must be able to select only one radio button from the repeater control.
I am working on VS 2005. In short, i need to make the radio buttons mutually exclusive in the repeater control.
Please share any points on this.
Thanks in advance,
KC

Give each <input type="radio"> element the exact same name attribute. That's it. Do that, and you're done.
If you want help with using the Repeater control, ask in the ASP.NET forum[^].

Hi
I'm in the process of converting my classic asp websites into ASP.Net (c#). I have set up a website in Web Developer Express but when I run an .asp page in the browser, I get an error message:
This type of page is not served.
Description: The type of page you have requested is not served because it has been explicitly forbidden. The extension '.asp' may be incorrect. Please review the URL below and make sure that it is spelled correctly.
Do I have to tell Web Developer Express that I am running .asp pages? I have set the website up to run ASP.NET pages because that's what I'm converting them to but will need to also run some .asp pages in the meantime.
Thanks
Lorna

Without access to the server you can't.

What happens if the site never goes down? What happens if the site is running fine but your connection disappears? What happens if they have a redundant system where one server comes up immediately when a server goes down?
Basically, other than constantly pinging the server, there is no other way to know how long it's been up. Pinging is a brute-force method that will only really tell you how long you've been pinging it.

thank you again,i think pinging wouldn't be a good way too

Hi
I am creating something like a website that hosts images, those images will be used particularly in forums, I want to find a way to make the images clickable so when a user posts a topic in some forum and uses a hosted image, for example . I want that image to be displayed in the topic like any normal image but I want it to be clickable like a hyperlink that links to some website.
Anyway to do this?
I hope so as I need this very badly.

Well, Yusuf, I don't think it is that simple.
in a forum topic, the final tag for an image is so at the moment I am only limited to transfer JPEG data. I was wondering if there was a trick to change the MIME response type of the server AND to make the browser accept html response inside an tag.

why is that? Can't you change that to be HTML and send what ever you want including the <img>
Mohammad A Gdeisat wrote: I was wondering if there was a trick to change the MIME response type of the server AND to make the browser accept html response inside an tag.
of course you can cange the MIME type to what ever you want.
Response.ContentType
For list of MIME types see <a href="http://www.w3schools.com/media/media_mimeref.asp" target="_blank" title="New Window">here</a>
But I don't understand the need to spoof the MIME type instead of changing the forum header to regular HTML?

Thats exactly what I did, I changed the MIME type to text/html in the custom http handler but when I created a test page with tag I could only see a bad image. no html data was displayed on the page.

Just loop through navigator.plugins 'till you find it, then parse out the version from the description property. This should work everywhere except IE... Code for IE can be found here[^].
