I'm sorry, but I don't have any experience with the web browser control.

I am sharing your frustration. The web browser is included in CF 2.0. For my purposes, however, I don't want to use webBrowser because webBrowser then calls PocketWord and thats not very pretty. I am hoping i can figure out some way to display word type files using the OpenNetCF Inkx control, but I haven't gotten very far with it.

I have placed to following code in the "Load" method of a form with a dataGrid1 object added. When I run the application and after a small delay the data grid shows a small box with an arrow in the upper-left corner but it does not display my data. Does anyone know why this is happening?
private void Authors_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
DataSet dsAuthors = new DataSet("authors");
string filePath = "/Storage Card/authors.xml";
dsAuthors.ReadXml(filePath);
dataGrid1.DataSource = dsAuthors;
}

Hi all, I have a application run in O2 Xda IIi Pocket PC (speed 520MHz) where I will update the image of the picture box every minit.
My code is like below:
void DisplayMap()
{
Bitmap MyImage1;
if(picCar.Image!=Null)
picCar.Image.Dispose();
MyImage1 = new Bitmap("C:\car.jpg");
picCar.Image = MyImage1;
}
My problem is sometimes the application will hang! I have debug this and find out that when reach 'new Bitmap', it will just hang, or sometimes pop out System.IO.FileNotFoundException:FileNotFoundException
where actually the file is exist!
Can anybody help me on how to dispose a picturebox image properly?is it a bug of .NET picturebox?
I had also run the same application in O2 Xda II (Speed 400Mhz) and O2 Xda II Mini Mobile Handphone PDA limited edition (Speed 416 MHz), and it is no problem at all! Will it be the speed and RAM problem?or graphic processing?
Thanks.

Use this:
void DisplayMap()
{
Bitmap MyImage1;
if(picCar.Image!=Null)
{
MyImage1=picCar.Image;
picCar.Image=Null;
MyImage1.Dispose();
MyImage1=Null;
}
MyImage1 = new Bitmap("C:\car.jpg");
picCar.Image = MyImage1;
}
THIS MUST WORK!

Hi I am new here. I want to write some code for Pocket PC using Visual Studio.Net 2003 and visual c++/MFC.
I already have some code in MFC / visual studio.net 2003.
I want to rewrite them for Pocket PC.
My question is does Pocket PC support MFC in visual studio.net 2003.
If yes can you suggest some tutorial/ notes/ book on that subject.

Hi,
maybe this is the wrong forum, but my app runs on Windows Mobile ... Anyway: I have a form with lots of different Label controls, generated by designer. What would be the best approach to change the font color for all these labels (so that users can switch between a day and night view). I'd rather not set every label control manually ... (this is C#/.NET CF 2.0)
Thanks

I have a RAS Dialup client implemented on the WinCE device. It calls the RAS server on remote machine to establish Modem - to Modem communication.
I have a following issue.
1. The connection between the Client and Server is establish but the server fails to authenticate the client crudentials ( User entered wrong password or user name ).
2. At this point I ask User to enter new ID and Password, drop the current connection and re-establish a new one by dailing again with the new crudentials.
The requirement I have is to not drop the connection and re-dail a new, but to keep the connection and only re-authenticate the client with the newly entered values ( somehow ).
I'm not sure how to do that since there is no appropriate API calls for the RAS interface.
Anybody has any ideas how this can be done?

I'm doing some small PocketPC development, and I need to be able to have a basic database on the unit. I'm using EVC4.0 because the SDK for the unit does not support .NET yet... yuck.
What do you recommend? I'm using Win32 type code, hoping you could provide some examples.
Thanks.

Hello!
I'm about to receive a nice gadget, the i-mate K-JAM PDA-phone with Windows Mobile 5.0. I've been looking forward to do some coding on this platform, but as it turns out I will need VS 2005 to develop with .NET 2.0. Does anyone know of alternative development platforms or any (actual) open-source initiative to enable development on Windows Mobile 5.0? I currently does not have a license for VS
Thanks in advance for any response!
Best regards,
Kenneth

Hi.
As far as I know, you could use Pocket C. It isn't the easiest way, but it works. (I've tested it). It starts at $29. Have a look at www.orbworks.com
Hope this helps.

Back when my device only had version 1.1 of the .Net Compact Framework, I was using PocketC# and a PPC commandline to develop apps on my PPC for my PPC. I had to make my own C# source file editor (easy enough) because Microsoft thought it would be cool to hide file extensions (so I couldn't edit .cs files with Pocket Word).
Since installing .NCF version 2.0, I've done a little, but I don't recommend it. I'm still waiting for someone to port version 2.0 of csc.exe to PocketPC (PocketC# includes a port of version 1.1).

Anybody farmilliar with a way to show the contents of the PPC screen on an overhead projector? I'm doing some programming on the Symbol RFID Handheld reader, and unfortuantely, the emulator will not do the trick because of the extra buttons/triggers on the scanner.
Is there a way to replicate the actual PPC screen on a projector by installing software of any kind?
Any info would be great,
Thanks.
Mike.

Unless your PDA has external screen support you could use SOTI pocket controller or dotpocket. Both these programs will display the image on a laptop/desktop that could then be displayed on a projector.
Good luck!

Hi.
When I try to set the event Close on a form in .NET Compact Framework 1 SP3, visual studio gives me "Sub ... Handles Me.Close", wich is ok.
But when I try to execute it, Visual Studio complains about "Keyword Not Valid As An Indentifier on line (the line above)" and I have to use MyBase.Close instead of Me.Close, wich does not work propertly.
Can anyone explain me why this happens?
Thanks. Benedikt

I want to create mp3 player in c# with using wm player 10 on Smartphone.
I'm using IWMPPlayer interface. I'm having problem with autostart functions.
For example:
IWMPPlayer player = new WindowsMediaPlayerClass();
player.settings.autoStart = false;
player.URL = @"\Storage Card\2.mp3";
When I set autostart = false, it is still sound.
Even player.controls.stop() under player.URL doesn't work.
Why ?
Thanks.
