If I add different resource files for different languages then I need to add lots of line to set the controls text at run time.
Can't we use culture method to change the language of the application with single line of code?
I read about this on internet and saw different codes for vb.net windows application but when I tried to apply this on pocket pc application it did not work for me.
Thanks In Advance

Changing the culture through My.Application.Culture will not magically redraw everything on your screen. It only takes effect for future resource retrieval. Best thing you can do is save the setting, exit your application and re-load it.
If my memory serves me right, you should be able to use normal truetype fonts on the device, so if you have a Windows Arabic font, you can just put in on the device. (only problem may be size, Windows CE uses cut-down versions of the fonts)
Not certain how right-to-left writing will be handled, though.

Can a wireless node still buffer packets when it's receiver is turned off?
Hii ..
As per my knowledge ... Normally the AP will buffer if the stations are in power save mode, by checking the mib details stored in AP.
So if the receiver is turned off, the AP mib information doesn't conatin the details about that particular station.
So it won't buffer the packets for that station.This is my answer...If this is correct or not.....???
Thanking you

typically, you read the data in a particular format from a serial port, or saved data from a gps plugged in as a usb device/file-system - this shows a good start to the vb/serial approach - there's also plenty of stuff here on cp and on the web. To a lot it depends on the capabilities of the device you are using

I am working on a pocket pc application by using vb.net 2005.
I have 2 questions about the datagrid and datatable.
1. What I want is that when the datagrid is populated then application should check the datagrid first cell value and if it is null then it should change the backcolor of that row to Red.
2. I am creating a datatable on form load event and the adding rows by executing the sql statement by using datareader. Now I want to add a tablestyle to that datagrid and want to set the width of the datagrid columns.
Simple is that how I can set a datagrid table style while setting the datasource to datatable?
Thanks In advance

I'm trying to create an installer using WISE Install System 9.02. I have no custom script created. Using WISE's GUI, I added all the required files to the installer. At install time however, all the files do not get installed correctly. Does anyone have any advise on this, or can anyone recommend a different installer utility?

Hi All
I've been Googling a solution to the problem I've been having, but can't seem to find anyone with the exact same problem.
I have a windows executable (standalone exe) that can be fed parameters and it performs certain functions. I do not have the source for this exe, and I recently tried running it on a windows mobile device. This, however, gives me an error message: "invalid win32 application", which I is understandable that it wasn't created for a mobile device.
I've been trying to access this executable from within another mobile application that I have developed, but keeps giving similar errors to the above.
Is there a way for me to build any mobile application, or use a specific method to access/run/use windows executables on a mobile device?
Thanks for the help and comments in advance!

Short answer - no. Your biggest problem is that most Win32 apps are built to run on an Intel CPU whereas most Mobile devices use an ARM CPU. The two kinds of binaries aren't compatible, period.

Thanks for the comment. I've been trying to write a wrapper class calling the executable, but that didn't work either. Will have to look into finding a mobile version of the executable.
Thanks again!

Hi,
I created an application and successfully placed under programs group. However the icon is not showing up in the group. I created 32x32 4 bit icon. Under programs group I placed application's shortcut and the original application has been placed under program files group. What could cause such problem not to display the icon of application?
Another question is how can I add the application under OS's remove applications group to be unistalled?
Thanks.

The icon needs to be set as the icon for the executable in your development environment. Assuming this is a .Net developed program you can right-click on your project, select "Properties", and then you will find the option to set the EXE's icon.
If you want the program to show up in the "Remove Programs" UI you will need to have installed it using a cab. For more information on that see htis: Deployment[^]

Hello,
I would like to know how I can add a created application under Windows Mobile OS programs group or under games?
Thank you.

Are you talking about adding your application to the programs group when you install your app?
If yes, then i assume that you already have a cab or setup project for your app.
If yes, you can add "Games Folder" or "Programs Folder" to your "File System on Target Machine" and add a link to your app to these folders.

Hi To All,
I am currently developing the mobile application using ASP.Net mobile controls.
I want to handle the Back command in the objectlist. I have added below mentioned OnItemCommand event for handling the commands of the objectlist.
CODE:
public void objListShowDetails_OnItemCommand (Object Sender, ObjectListCommandEventArgs e)<br />
{<br />
if (e.CommandName == "Overview")<br />
{<br />
ActiveForm = frmPersonalDetails;<br />
}<br />
else if(e.CommandName == "Inspection")<br />
{<br />
ActiveForm = frmInspDetails;<br />
}<br />
else if(e.CommandName == "Back")<br />
{<br />
ActiveForm = frmStudentDetails;<br />
}<br />
}
The OnItemCommand event of the objectlist is not fired when i clicked the Back Command of objectlist but when i clicked the other commands of the objectlist it got fired.
So how to handle the Back command of the objectlist?
Any help regarding this will be greatly appreciated..
Thanks in advance
