Hey,
I have to provide one of my clients a visio app, but in the form of a web app.
I havent looked around, hence starting here, but basically I dont need anything to fancy.
Im not sure if a solution exsists already? but I have a meeting tomoz and have highlighted
some pre requirements.
Now the client wants me to do all these wonderful diagrams for him, but Im 99.9% sure he would
be more happy with having the tools so they can do it in house.
So I want to provide them some basic tools to be able to produce this.
So 2 things here, 1 is to allow the user to design the diagram and the 2 it to present it to the
user users, so they will see a presentation
1. Circula Button - Text in the middle, a standard size, 3 colour types,
- This is needed as user will be able to click the button and bring up another web page that will contain data.
2. Pointing arrors - to be able to point\ link lines between the Circula Buttons.
Right,
1. Does a solution like this already exist?
2. IF 1 = False, how do I go about creating a button to use in a web app, advice, example, links?

firs i run the application with a loop 50 next i go to my database in the saldo is correct
but if i run 2 thread one with 50 request and the other with 100 my saldo no is correct
i have the variable shared saldo
Can someone help me how is the way correct to work saldo to multi thread

If "saldo" is being updated in multiple threads then you must protect it. Concurrency is a big topic and there are many access patterns that depend on what your intended use is.
However, there are some things you might want to ask yourself first:
Must "saldo" be shared? What is the purpose of sharing "saldo"? Is it publically accessible, or only private? What are all the situations it is used in? Is it just the updates that need protecting, or is it a number of statements around the use of "saldo" that need protecting?

I have a problem where I have to give permission to one user and deny all others. I authentication mode is Windows and the authorization node is like the following:

</authorization>
This lets pass all users, probably because of the absence of a deny rule. So I modified it:
<authorization>
<allow users="mydomain\myuser" />
<deny users="*" />
</authorization>
Now, no user, including mydomain\myuser, can access the app. I tried:
<authorization>
<allow users="mydomain\myuser" />
<deny users="mydomain\otheruser" />
</authorization>
Both users can access the app.
I even tried reversing the order of the allow and deny nodes, to no avail.
Anyone has any idea on how I could fix this problem?
NOTE: I CANNOT USE ROLES. This is because we are a large organization and they won't create Windows groups just for this app.

I'm having some issues with the ASP.Net development Server:
VS tells me that it could not launch it because the port I specified is in use (I've set it to use a static port number). However, if I use netstat it doesn't show that any program is using the port. I do run nod32 AV but I don't think this is an issue as I can start the webdev server without a problem from the command line specifying the port that is apparently "in use" and can then browse to the address in IE.
UPDATE:
It was NOD32. What a PITA! Very weird considering I could start the webdev server from the command line and browse the site from IE without issues and that this issue happened today after running NOD32 for months! It must have been an update on their side that broke things

Hi There,
I have a class library where if I make any syntax error purposely and when I build the project it shows me message as Build Succeeded.Because of this I am not able to identify errors in my project.If antbody knows please help.

there must be exception in your dll if you do syntax mistake then compiler wont allow you to build it...
so only in case of exceptions it give message built succeded...

Hi
The following code send an email using Net.Mail.MailMessage.
The code run fine with no exceptions but the email not recive in the destination address.
The application run on IIS v 5, os: xp.
email send by virtual SMTP server
All the emails that i tried to send can be found on C:\Inetpub\mailroot\Queue.

Your SMTP server is not started. Start it and the mails will go.

Hi.
I have been given a legacy dot net 1.1 system to maintain. It uses bounds controls and templates. I am not allowed to scrap the techniques used.
I have to introduce another column after "Question [Yes]" which has an image and a text field with a click event. But it is only enabled (displayed), if the data value of "DataItem.YesQuestionID" = 0.
Anyone know how to do this please?

I need to be able to display new column, (with an image and some text), depending on the value of an existing column in the dataset. I get the feeling that I will have to trawl through the grid collection and test the necessary column value for each record. Am I on the right track?

Yes. You can check each row individually in the OnItemDataBound event and set the image visibility accordingly.

In my application i am using a Login Control and already there are some menus on it.But when i enter user name and password and press Enter key it doesn't go on to the login button.

you will have to learn configuration tool of visual studio in order to use login control..... which create automatically some tables and in your given database...for login and other related purpose...

that tool facilitate you to manage user roles,management of webparts,smtp settings... and many more things without writing a single line of code.
choice is yours...
if you want to do login verification only then create your own table of login instead of using login control...

I've got a gridview showing products with they're prices. I'd like a checkbox next to each item, so that a user could select multiple products and then display in the footer the sum of the prices selected.
I'm normally a winforms developer, so the client-side vs server-side thing is still new to me. But I'm guessing this needs to be done with client javascript to prevent a postback. And I don't want make any changes to the database side).
I really have no idea where to start, can someone please just point in right direction to do this with javascript?
Oh and I'm still on .Net 2.0

You are right. This has to be done using JS. Here[^] is an article. When each checkbox is checked, you need to get the price and sum it.
