i m using gridview to show the user and a child gridview to show the user details in the parent gridview cell..
my parent grid has two columns and child grid opens in the first cell.
now i want to show this grid in both cells..
the way to do this is merging the two cells.
but, how can i do this...
Please help me ...

set the colspan in the child cell to 2
it can be done in the OnRowDataBound event.

Hi I am new to Asp.net....
I am converting a htm files in to aspx files for localization issues.
I have a table with width=100% and height = 100%.
when I open the html page inside a fixed frame window. The table is not filling the whole window.
I want the last <tr> of the table to be on the bottom frame of the window. The below is the piece of my table.
At present the last <tr> of the main table is displayed above the window size. I want the empty space between the tr and the window size to be removed....
any help is highly appreciated....

maybe you set your session variable to default in application_start ?

sir i changed my system firewall settings now i can acccess website installed on my system from any where on my LAN except from LOcal Server why this happen have to change any firewall settings on local server help me

ok. maybe u should setting your proxy, if you have any. so you can access your own localhost.
ooorrrrr... maybe you should setting your browser.
if ie = internet options -> connections -> lan settings -> bypass proxy server for local address
if firefox = ....well, i believe you can do it...

session variable will be reseted , once you close the browser window,
if you want to keep the values until reset the server,
use Application variables or cache variables.
also - if the browser disabled the cookies, session variables will reseted every postback of the page.

iam printing a grid view by using the following java script. I want to use paging however this JS is only printing the first page. Any ideas on how can print all and use paging.

This is not printing the Gridview alone. it's printing the whole page. It will print whole contents of page. So if your grid view is showing only first page, you will get only that in print out. To get a complete print, you should show all data on the page.

Hi,
I want to use one Excel object in my web application, i.e with only one EXCEL process and we can use that process.
I am using
Excel.Application objExcelApp = new Excel.Application();
once the process opened it should not create a new instance for another user only use the current instance. I am using C#.

Singleton ?[^]. You should be careful to make your instance thread safe. Because web applications are multi-threaded.

Hi,
I am having a gridview with a checkbox column.i want to export the selected rows which are checked to a word document.I have done the code to export to word document.There were other 2 options which are already complete.There is option to export each row seperately to word document and export the entire rows from gridview to word document.
This is a new requirement to export selected rows to word document.
i have done this much
int count = 0;
foreach (GridViewRow gv in gv1.Rows)

if (cb.Checked)

}
I was able to get the count of the selected rows.How can i take the selected recordsand export to a word document.I need the sample code of that part.This is very urgent.Please help.

What is Gridbiew's data source type ? I assume it's a DataTable. So you could do the following.
DataTable dt = (DataTable)gv.DataSource;
int count = 0;
foreach (GridViewRow gv in gv1.Rows)
{

if (cb.Checked)

Gridbiew's data source is datatable as you said.
I want to export the selected row to a word document.If i have selected 10 rows how can i get that rows and assign to another datatable.

Create a new DataTable instance and add this rows to there like DataTable.Rows.Add(row)

DataTable.Rows.Add(row) cannot be used since we cannot add an existing row to another datatable.
i have used
dt1 = dt.Clone()
dt1.ImportRow(row)
but it there i'll get only the last row.I want all the selected row.Please help
