U can do that easily by using compareValidator.

Set belove property of compareValidator.
Type="Date"
ValueToCompare="01/01/1901"
ControlToValidate="TextBox1"
ErrorMessage="Enter valid date"
SetFocusOnError="True"
Operator="GreaterThanEqual"

Hi
I have been trying to open existing excel document from my asp.net page, it does not give me an error but it does not open the excel file.

Any help i will appreciate that

What Code you have written for Opening the Excel document.

First add reference of Excel and try to open the document.

Example:

I have tried that but it didn't work. I have tried a different way...
I pass a variable to HTML Hidden tag
FileName.Value = "C:\MyExcel.csv"

Then here is A tag
GetFile

This work like fine, but it display the excel file on a html page.

Here is what i'm doing.

I have an aspx page with a button and ExportToExcel icon. When clicking on the button is should create a table using a DataTable which is returned from Database Class and create and save a csv file to C:\. On click on Export to Excel icon, it should open the saved file.

Is there an easier way to do this.

hello,
i am struggling to hold a pair of values in a dropdownlist
i.e CountryID and CountryName i want to take CountryID when selectedIndexChanged Event raises...
I had done the same thing in desktop app. by overriding .Value() and .ToString Method..

I dont want to write Multiple queries at every time because it is an overhead in web apps.

anyone who can help me out please.....
i am expecting advice, code snippet or files...so that i can go ahead...

for that i will get a set of values which overides .Value method

i am creating a usercontrol that contains 2 textboxes and a button.textboxes are web controls .i want to check when i click in button whether textboxes contains value or not? is it possible to write a javascript function inside a usercontrol?
i tried
if(document.getElementById('Name').value=="")
{
alert("Name can't be empty");
}
but it's not working?

You will get error on this line, if control Name is a server control. This happens because ASP.NET appends user control name with the server side controls to make control id unique. So you need to view source of the page and find out how your control is rendered. Usually it will be like usercontrolname_controlname. Find this name and use that in javascript.

Hi all,

I would like to replace \\ with \... I have tried the line below , but will not work....

hi,

try to use / instead of \ otherwise use @"\".

\ is a new line character in C# and your code will work only in vb.net.

So it is better to avoid it.
