Dear all,
I have developed a custom httphandler.But when i register this custom httphandler with any of my applications the controls are not getting rendered. i think it is because only one httphandler can process a web request at a time and the default asp.net httphandler is not processing the request. is there any way to get these two handlers process the request. how can i get the controls rendered even i use a custom httphandler. hope you all got my point. awating reply eagerly

hi,
i have set of file paths from client machine, to be uploaded to my upload folder in my application.
i add more than one file to listbox.
when i click save button all files to be uploaded.
i know oploading using htmlinput file.

but there also it using multiple htmlinputfiles for multple files
but here in my requirement i do not have htmlinputfile i have fromfilepath
and tofilepath(in my machine)
i have to upload from fromfilepath to tofilepath

Hi,
In my ASP.NET website, I used a stored procedure to retrieve some records which has more than one records. In stored procedure I do
SELECT @taskid=taskid, @taskdescp=taskdescp
FROM tb_ticket_task
WHERE tickid=@tickid
But this would return only one record, does stored procedure return any record set which I have been trying to find from the internet but couldn't.
If stored procedure cannot return record set, any alternative I can use using C# in ASP.Net?

Check whether for the particular @tickid are there multiple rows in the tb_ticket_task table.
Hope, as the result is stored in variables it is returning only the last value.
try using select query with only columns i.e.
SELECT taskid, taskdescp FROM tb_ticket_task WHERE tickid=@tickid

Create a function in SQL Server with return type as table.

Hi KP,
it works and I should have knew it, hehe.
I used myCommand.ExecuteNonQuery() instead of myCommand.ExecuteReader() which explain why I could not get all the records.
Then I do while (reader.read()) and assign all I got into an ListItem then to a PlaceHolder. All the data successfully retrieved.

Hello,
So I am working on a project to transfer database data from different locations into one central database via webservices. My initial thought was to install the webservice on the database servers in the different locations and have the consumer webservice installed on the central database server invoke the webservices at each of these locations to update the central database. Now I don't know if that is the right way to do it as I have no clue as to how to differentiate between the webservices in these different locations and how to even call them. Please help. Suggestions and coments as to how I can go about this will be appreciated. Than you.

I have an interesting situation. I am doing a DB query to lookup email addresses from a SQL server table. I want to then put those addresses into an email to be sent programmatically. So there could be anywhere from 1 to x email addresses. Kind of new to asp.net and was curious as to the communities thoughts on if an array or collection would be better, or something else?

I would say use System.Collections.Specialized.StringCollection
This is a specialized collection of strings..
Or you can use System.Collections.Generic.List<string>
i.e.
System.Collections.Generic.List<string> myList = new System.Collections.Generic.List<string>();
If you know the exact number of results, array is just raw memory and fastest too, whereas using these above data structures requires some overhead..

Hi,
we are using asp.net 2.0 calendar control on our website. I have painted the calendar days with event information and set the tooltips for those days using javascript. But when the user hovers the mouse on the calendar, first it is displaying the control tooltip "Calendar" and if we wait for some time the tooltip will go away and the assigned tooltip will appear. How can I disable the control tooltip?
