HI all,
Here am using 2 user Controls.One Usercontrol(Button.ascx) is having Button and another Usercontrol(Grid.ascx) is having Datagrid.
Am placing these 2 controls on different page(New.aspx).
Here i want to fill the datagrid in the Bitton Click event.
I used delegates and Enabled Buton click event and Datagrid Bind event in the New.aspx page.Here the click event is enabled but Datagrid event is not firing and its not entering into the event.
Pls guide me How to call an event within the event which r in difft UCs.

I am trying send a hyperlink in mail. It worked correctly for gmail, hotmail etc. But it is not showing the link in some email providers. This is the code what i am using for link.

How do i prevent users of my web application from bypassing my User login to other pages in my asp.net web site? i.e I have pages something like

Use session variables to find out if the user has logged on, if not redirect him to login page.

Hiii
In longin.aspx, after validating the user if the user is a valid user then store his name in a session variable.....
In other pages(like purchase.aspx, stock.aspx, sales.aspx) check whether session variable contains value or not, if session variable is null then redirect user to login.aspx.

If you do decide to use session instead of forms auth, keep in mind that sessions die after 20 minutes by default, and that in the meantime, you should clear the session if the user navs away from your site or logs out.

Hi!
I am facing a problem while freezing the rows of datagrid.
In my grid I have showheader="false". because i have to create header through DHTML.
So,I have inserted rows using DHTML, because row is to be distributed in sub rows.
My problem is while freezing rows it lock scrolling for item/data rows but not for row added on top as Header.

On display, teh Password box does not display the password value.

you can not set value for password textbox as normal textbox...try this
PasswordText.Attributes.Add("value", "ThePassword");

This is more of a security reason that you don't see the password at runtime, it just ensures that the unmasked password is not displayed in the HTML source.
You could leave the password field blank and the user can give his/her old password and the new password on the screen. If you still think you need to show the password then you can try using the code txtPassword.Attributes["value"] = strPassword;

Hello there
I'm currently working a datagrid and I would like to add a tooltip with an image if you move the rows. The image is bound to an article id that each row has. My idea is something like this:
Create a method that gets the specific image url for a given article id.
Use e.row.attributes.add to add a javascript that shows the tooltip on mouseover and removes it on mouseout.
Will use the method to pass an argument with the image url to the javascrip
However, after this I'm stuck. I'm having trouble to get a hold of a nice javascript that can take a image url as argument and show it. And I'm not completely sure if I'm on the right way either, especially as the images need to be different and loaded dymically for each row.
Any suggestions what to do?

An easy way could be adding a tags in the row. And give a title for the tag. That will come as tool tip. It could be something like
<td><a title='<% GetTooltip("YourKey") %>> Your TD text goes here </a>
This won't be the best solution but you can do it very fast instead of going for javascript.

I've just done something similar for the search screens in our web app. Basically on ItemDataBind of the grid, as you say, add an onmouseover handler (no need for a mouseout), pointing to a getImage() javascript function, and in the markup, add a div absolutely positioned, with an img tag inside it.
The js function uses ajax to get the url of the associated image (well, actually, it streams it back, but you get the idea).
Once I have the image (or the url), it's then a simple matter to set display:inline on the div and src= on the image....

Hi all,
I am displaying a datagrid that contains a dropdown list in the 1st column.The user select the operation on the data from the dropdown.For this purpose i wan`t to provide a confirm box for each DDl.
I tried using the following code in the Item DataBound event of the datagrid...

This code gives the dialog box but the postback doesn`t occur if user selects OK and hence the onselectionchanged event on the server is not fired.
How do i go about this???

Try and set the AutoPostBack property of DDL to true
