Hi,
I have 2 pages in my website.
First Page will have some checkboxes.
There is also a link which will take to the second page.
Assume if I am in second Page(after clicking the link), and Press the BackButton from the IE toolbar,
the checkboxes in the First page remains checked.
Is there any way to make the Page_Load event triggered
on Pressing Back Button?
And there should not be any code in the link_click event.

Hi,
I have a webservice in ASP.NET that has one exposed WebMethod that lets the outerworld send us some data and we return a response back after processing that data.
We have a restriction though, our clients use a different develpment environment, and they do not use web services as we normally do.
They will be using 'HTTP Post' to call the web method exposed by the web service in the following manner:
http://mydomain.com/Webservice.asmx/ProcessData?=Parameter = Some Data
And the response that they get back is as follows
<string xmlns="http://mydomain.com/">Response As a String
Is there anyway that I can return only the response back to the client without the XML tags?
My client is being really adamant about getting only the response back and we already have a running webservice that would be really hard to convert to any other format.

I have done this with an aspx page, so it might be similar with a web service. With an aspx page you make sure you just have a page with only the
<@Page header infomation. No tag or anything like that. Then in the page load you do processing based off the request you get. Then you take the Response object call the clear method and then do a Response.BinaryWrite
You will need to convert your string into an array of bytes to pass into the binarywrite.
Anyway, I haven't tried it with a web service yet, but I am pretty sure it would work.

Hi
I need a code, the service needs to visit a webpage ( http://secondlife.com/events/ ) and extract the list of "events" by storing the data in strings.
example:
string1 = "10:00PM"
string2 = "event description"
string3 = "event hoster"
string4 = link_to_full_description (ex. http://secondlife.com/events/event.php?id=543559&date=1177164000)
I know this can be easily done but I havent done any web data extraction till now, so I thought I ask here for help

One possibility is you can create a shared folder and get a certain user rights on both servers. I have some windows services that do this. I have the windows server run as a certain user that has rights to copy files across servers. Then you can just use the System.IO.Copy

thank you for your reply. what you had send me was applicable for windows applications, but what I want is to copy from one web server to another, for instance : from www.testsite1/data/a.txt to www.testsite2/save/a.txt

If you want to do this manually what I suggested will still work. If you want a to have a web application be able to copy over to a different server that is a bad idea. You really don't want to give your web server rights on another server. Still if you feel this is something you really want to do it can be done. The web site that is trying to write to the other web site needs to be running under a new app pool. The identity of this app pool should be setup as that network user I talked about before that has write rights to the other server on the network. NOTE that the user must have rights on the share and on the file system. NOTE that user must be a member of the IIS_WPG group on the web server as well.

In my project there are so many hidden fields in all of my aspx pages.In Html they declared simply like this
But in cs file it is not used.In the same page Html Textbox there in the onclick event The Id of the hidden field
the function implemented in javascript.Even there also not assigned any value so how it is possible?this is in VS.NET 2005

Hi friends,
I have need to read .pdf file in ASP.NET and save it's content to database. Is it possible for that i have seen most of sites like, tallComponent, Xtranet etc. but from them i found that we can create pdf file but can not read it's content expects form in pdf bcoz we can read only form data from pdf. Exactly i need to develop like acrobat reader but not all facility. Only search, no. of bookmarks, no. of links. I also want to convert .pdf to .swf file if possible.
