Hi All
I have problem regarding WebCustom Control
I am trying to develop a generic WebCustomControl for searching purpose.
What i am trying to do is to pass UI Controls such as labels textboxes etc from the hosting page to the webcustom control. I have a method in WebCustomControl Class that add these control to the Control Collection of the WebCustomControl.
The logic of the method is
public void AddControls(Controls[] UIControls)
{
foreach (Control control in UIControls)
{
this.Controls.Add(control );
}
}
The Method is called from the Hosting Page as
TextBox txt1 = new TextBox();
txt1.ID = "txtname";
Control[] c ={ txt1};
search.AddControls(c);
I creat a control array and store my textbox in it i then pass the array to the method of webcustom control.
Now the problem is that when render method of the control is called the control collection of webcutomcontrol lost its value. the logic of RenderContents is as
protected override void RenderContents(HtmlTextWriter output)
{
foreach (Control control in UIControls)
{
control .RenderControl(output);
}
}
 This is fairly simple but i don't know where the problem is

i know how to make a data grid, but i would like to add a place to enter a variable, or multiple variables (like date ranges or an individual customer)

what you mean by variable? are your trying to enter some text/date if so use templatefield and the text boxes in that templatefield..

yes, data from a data box or date box.

tehn as I mentioned earlier, use templatefield (gridview) templatecolumn(datagrid) and add text boxes under itemtemplate

Hi All,
I have one text box and then save button when I enter the information in the text box and press Enter key on Keyboard it should save the record .
I am not using the Tab to set the tab index for button.
Just Pressing the Enter Key How can I save the records.
Please Help me out

if you have only one submit button on the page then it should submit the form automatically. If not then you have to catch the enter key (use document.onkeypress function the code for enter key is 13) and fire the button's onlcick functionor submit the form.

Hi,
Actually I had two nested datalist.
one is fetching categoryId
and second is fetching subCategory.
i able to fetch the category but i m unable to fetch the subCategories of that category.
I have to set second selectCommand with the categoryId of first datalist.
out put should be like dis.
Category1
Subcategory1
Subcategory2
Subcategory3
Category2
Subcategory1
Subcategory2
Category3
Subcategory1
Subcategory2
Subcategory3
their r n no of categories and n no of subcategories.

Try using a DataSet and setting the relationship between the two DataTables. Then you can use the GetChildRows method.

I have page main contain a iframe
On the page main have treeview and i use Ajax
tag UpdatePanel contain tree view but it not contain iframe
when i click event SelectedNodeChanged on tree view i want ReLoad iframe
On the function i try javacript but it not run

ReLoad() ?? Is that a Javascript function you have created?
By definition you have already "reloaded" your page. This is a server-side event so a postback has been caused by handling this event. What is it you are trying to accomplish?

The ReLoad javascript function must be on the page that is in the iframe.
