I forgot, if you intended instead really to create a web page, you only have to use the FileStreams and FTP classes to upload the webpage (or, if the permission of the web-site allows that, you can create directly the page on the web space).

How can i get values in between some tags. I have one pre tag and i want to get the value contained in the pre tag.

Eg :

I want this code<br>next line

any idea? can i use regular expressions ? how can i form a regular expression for this..

Use the "Ignore HTML" option when you post markup code, or use the < > buttons to insert the html code for those characters.

Good morning everyone.
I'm developing an application that listens to incoming TCP/IP socket connections from client applications. the client connects to my server and sends an array of bytes. My application receives it, does some calculation on the bytes and resends the modified byte array back to the client. I was pretty new to socket connections, so i thoroughly read the article "Asynchronous socket communication" here on Code Project. I managed to put up this application and it seems to work (i did not have to develop the client, that is made by another programmer).
My problem is that i was recently asked to make this service accessible also on the Internet through a website. I should put up a simple page with a textbox and a button: the user writes a HEX string in the textbox, pushes the button and he's prompted with the result.
As a complete newbie to ASP, i first tried the desperate attempt to do the old "cut&paste": after a small adjustment, the very same code i used for a c# test application (that i used to connect to my server app) compiled under ASP. As i load the page, i can see my server application recognizes and accepts the connection; sometimes i even manage to send the byte array; but nothing is received back. I know it was too much to expect this rough approach to work flawlessly: so i think it's better to write it from scratch. Though, after some unproductive googling, my poor (read: none) knowledge of ASP led me to ask for help here. I know it may be laughably simple for you experts, but i really just need to do this:
- send a byte array to a specified IP address on a specified port;
- keep listening for a similar byte array
- display the received code under the form of a HEX string.
Please note that due to the heavy calculations needed, the server can take up to two-three minutes before sending the answer.
If anyone can help me, or at least can point me out some articles which can enlighten me, i would be very grateful. Thanks in advance, all of you.

Hi,
I'm having a RadioButtonList that has two RadioButtons. One has "Good Mood " and the other one "Bad Mood". But I want whe one is selected it may come with a particular smilie. How could I go about this?

Hi,

Add two images in your web application.

Add an html Img tag in your .aspx.

<img runat="server" id="ImageSmile" />

Make it invisible using javascript function as given below:

document.getElementById('ImageSmile').style.visibility = "hidden";

Add the foll. line in the code-behind file as

RadioButtonList1.Attributes.Add("OnClick", "return ChangeSmile();");

and add a javascript function:

function ChangeSmile()
{
    if (document.getElementById('RadioButtonList1_0').checked == true)
    {        
        document.getElementById('ImageSmile').style.visibility = "visible";
        document.getElementById('ImageSmile').src = "images/smiley_smile.gif";
    }
    else
    {
        document.getElementById('ImageSmile').style.visibility = "visible";
        document.getElementById('ImageSmile').src = "images/smiley_frown.gif";
    }
}

P.S.: Change the path of your images.

If your radio button id is 'rblmood' then dont change the variable name ...
just copy the foll. text : ( i have renamed the id)

Your code should look like this.

P.S:- In the above example 'rblmood_0' means the first radio button id...In IE, right click your web application, Click View Source.
You will see RadiobutonList_0, RadiobuttonList_1 etc..

Imagine a company that produces several products.
This company would like its employees to log into an intranet and view

what i am getting is you want to open a new page on click of row.?

You need to put a button or a link in gridview and then

use RowDataBound event of gridview

if (e.Row.RowType== DataControlRowType.DataRow)
{
e.Row.cells[5].Text= "view..."
}

[5]=your column text where user will click to open new widow.
View...=your text which you want to show your user
is html tag , format it according to your needs.

user can drag any number of files and drop in my form and then on button click
these files will be upload.
pls help me i don't know how to do this.

i have added user defined module in dot net nuke portal that contains several web forms with extension .ascx the problem is linkbutton in these webforms doesnt work properly when i run the application. sometimes i had to click atleast 7 or 8 times to make it work and sometimes it just works with only one click .
can someone please help me in this regard
