I'm having problems accessing a MS-Access Database from within ASP.NET (Visual Studio 2003). The program itself is in "C:\Inetpub\Guest", and I've created the database at "D:\databases\guest.mdb".
When I run the program I get an error on the line:
OleDbConnection1.Open()
It says:
We can't find "http://localhost/DBTest1/frmMain.aspx"
Error - Internal server error
I took off "friendly messaging" for the browser, and now have a more descriptive error for this problem. It says:
The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot open the file 'D:\databases\guest.mdb'. It is already opened exclusively by another user, or you need permission to view its data.
I have just rebooted the PC, so it cannot be opened exclusively by another user. When I define the Connection String in the OleConnection1, I have:
Provider Tab
------------------
a) Microsoft Jet 4.0 OLE DB Provider
Connection Tab
-----------------------
a) I select the database "guestbook.mdb"
b) User name: Admin
c) I click on "Blank password", but not "Allow saving password"
Advanced Tab
--------------------
a) I choose "Share Deny None"
When the wizard is about to close I select: "Include Password"
This didn't work, and I've played around with the settings, but to no avail. What's wrong?

Hi.
I have a web application (RadioBecon) installed on one of the servers. I think it’s written in C# and of course doesn’t have any code behind (so I cannot modify it). The application uses license to track how many people are using it. Every time someone logs in it locks the license in DB. The session, which expires after some time (you can set it in the admin console), is supposed to kick people out and release the license in DB but for some reason it doesn’t do it when session time expires.
I went to wwwroot -> application folder and in the WebConfig file set session to 900 (15 min.). I’ve done that to make sure it kicks people out after 15 min. But that didn’t help either. It does kick people out of application but doesn’t unlock license in the database. I can see in the database user is set as locked. I guess the application is not working right… Database doesn’t track time and sessions (logins). For reporting purposes to see who’s logged in and for how long the application uses IIS (so no info stored in DB)
The thing is I would like to unlock license of each user after 15 (or any set time) min.
Is there any way for me to write some application (VB.NET) so it can read sessions used in IIS for my application and if they are longer than specified time to remove it and ran SQL query to unlock the user?

In your code behind,
Create a directory:
System.IO.Directory.CreateDirectory(@"\My Folder");
Copy some files:
use System.IO.File.Copy
you can get a list of files with in a directory with the directory class and then enumerate them calling copy.

that also you can populate in the onitemdatabound event, only thing is that you have to put a check that the listitem is edititem.

Hi , please i have a small problem right here , i need to declare a connection & a dataset & also an adapter variables within ma application but i want to use just 1 variable in those ones in each session that mean all the pages in 1 session will use 1 variable that mean this variable havs to be public or global or i don't know , i just tried to declare it in the module in vs2003 but in the web devoloper 2005 there is no module item , even with that module it doesn't work

Store your variable in session state. After retreiving the variable from session state you can pass it as an arguement to whatever method / function you want. You need to read up on ASP.Net development. Check these links for more info.
