Hello

I am a programmer in asp.net c#.i need ur help .in my project i want to operate with images like enlarging ...my problem is i need a component which manipulate images without destroying it's quality. can any one help me

I want to get DataTable value by column index,not by specical column name,So I must get column name,I test many way to get it,it is always failed.this is my code.

1. alert(ds.Tables[0].Columns[0].Name);
2. alert(ds.Tables[0].Columns[0].Item[0]);
3. alert(ds.Tables[0].Columns[0].FieldName);

What was the error returned?
ds.Tables[0].Columns[0].ColumnName should work unless your dataset is null or contains no tables, or the table has no columns at all.

BTW, why are you using alert? If you mean to access the dataset from Javascript, you need to convert the dataset into either an XML or Javascript array first.

Hi,
I have two problems,

First I want to show the master details data in a single grid (or a grid within a grid or a repeater within a repeater).
The structure what I want is something like, On the first column i ant to sho different rows which have the info about the master say customerid , customer name ,customer address.
And in the second column there will be all the details rows, which will contain multiple orders.
Actually it should look like in a table its only two colums.

I hope i am clear enough.

Secondly,I dont want to edit any record, i just want to display them.
So which control should i use, Repeater,DataView or grid.

Please provide me with the link or a sample code in C#.

I recently went through the learning of master/detail grids. All I can say is if you don't want to edit--good! It will make life easier. Smile | :)

There are lots of articles but the ones I found most helpful were the 18 part series on datagrids at 4guysfromrolla. This is the link to part 18 but it has links to the other ones. Part 14 is the master/detail article.

If you use the datagrid you will use ItemTemplate for your columns. Basically it's like a datagrid, and then creating another datagrid inside of it for the detail stuff.

There are some articles here for nested datagrids (I'd search on those keywords) that also show how to insert drop-downs and things like that. But personally, I really like that 18 part series, especially if you have never worked with datagrids.

I don't know if someone else feels Repeater or DataView is better, but I had not programmed asp.net in a looong time and I eventually got it.

Feel free to go through the articles and post again if you have more specific questions.

You're just looking for the code to connect to the database? Because all the datagrid setup (columns, headers and such) is done in the asp part.

Hi,
I want to display data into gridview.I wrote the following code;

When i run the application,it is giving the following exception:
Both DataSource and DataSourceID are defined on 'GridView1'. Remove one definition.

Please help me.

The error message is clear enough and also gives you the solution. You basically use either the DataSource or DataSourceID to bind data to the GridView control.

Did you initialize DataSourceID for your GridView? If yes, comment or delete that line and run your app.

Hello.

I'm writting a web service which is constructed of some DLLs.
Each dll has its configuration properties.

I would like to be able to save & read these configuration paramaters in files (a file for each DLL) during runtime. I found endless classes from Framework 2.0 that claim to do this but haven't found nothing that saves the configuration to a simple file and reads it back in a simple manner.

In the Configuration namespace I found a way to save paramaters. I constructed a ConfigurationSection and was able to save it into a file but found no way to read it (very strange to find a SaveAs mathod without a Read method). Just saving it would create a XXX.exe.config which isn't going to work for the webservice.

Any ideas ?

Hi there,
Here are a couple of tips which are already documented in MSDN:

+ You can use the methods of the ConfigurationManager or WebConfigurationManager to open the config file, and these methods basically return the Configuration object.

+ The Configuration object provides you with the GetSection, GetSectionGroup to read the configuration settings, and the Save, SaveAs methods to save the settings.
