I need delete confirmation Dialgbox when I am clicking the top most Delete Button(if any Row is Selected from GridView).
How to Handle this.

In this case, you can use the OnClientClick of the Delete button to provide your custom client script to check if any row is selected, then display the confirm message with the confirm method.

This is exactly the kind of post that most on CP will either ignore, or publicly slam you for. Instead of doing either those things, I can direct you to something that will help you a lot:

I heard that AJAX can simulate "Multiple-Document Interface" in a webpage.
For example:
http://www.live.com/
http://www.meebo.com/
I have searched through the entire http://atlas.asp.net/ website and still
can't find any sample code that can do this.
Can someone enlighten me on how I can get those nice windows using AJAX?

Hi
I need to set the properties of a label programmatically. Those properties being the font weight and color. Is it possible to do so?
Thanks
|
|
|
|
|
Yes, Font color is accessible through the ForeColor property. Can't remember the font weight property, but worst case scenario would be to set the CssClass property to a css class which defines font weight according to what you want.
Wenn ist das Nunstück git und Slotermeyer? Ja! Beierhund das oder die Flipperwaldt gersput!
|
|
|
|
|
This would set the label's font weight to bold and color to green:
<asp:Label id="lbl1" runat="server"
Font-Bold="true"
ForeColor="green" />
If you needed more control over the font weight, you could use CSS and assign a style class to the label:
<asp:Label id="lbl1" runat="server"
CssClass="myLabelClass" />
To set color & weight programmatically:
void Page_Load()
{
lbl1.Font.Bold = true;
lbl1.ForeColor = System.Drawing.Color.Green;
}

1) ur accessing the which version Page? either 1.1 or 2.0?
2) Check weather the the required framework is installed or not. if no. go to VS Command Prompt and type aspnet_regiis -i
3) If multiple verstions are installed in WebServer. right click on VirtualDirectory, to Props, goto ASP.NET Tab. Here u have to select required version to ur Applicaton.

Hello.
I would like to run a windows control in my aspx code (using the <object classid="dllname#namespace.controlname/">. I am able to display my control button in my webpage.
However, .Net security does not allow me to do much with it. All the information I found tells me I need to strongly name my assembly and then add it directly to .Net Configuration Runtime Security Policy. However, when I stronly name my assembly, in order for my control button to show up I must place the "
[assembly:AllowPartiallyTrustedCallers]" directive in my dll's code. In addition the compiler does not allow me to strongly name an assembly containing references to ones that are not, therefore I need to wrap the SHDocVw dll with a strong name as well. (I am using project->properties->wrapper assembly key file).
At this point I get in trouble, however. My control shows up and works fine on my web page. However, when it goes to create a SHDocVw.WebBrowser object I get the error "That assembly does not allow partially trusted callers". I cannot find a way to get around this. I need the web browser control to be able to access the web browser on the client machine for the project I am trying to achieve, and I cannot find another way to do it besides using the SHDocVw.dll. However, I also cannot seem to find any way to get around all the permission stumbling blocks. I am sure someone has done this before, and figured out what needs to be done. Please help!
Thank you
~Y
PS. I need to do this in .Net 1.1 I cannot resort to .Net 2.0 for this.

Hello!!
I am going nuts over this silly problem... has anyone come up with a solution? Maybe?
I got a master page, and a child page. The child page is accessed from the master page via a linkButton, and is set to be a modal window (so it pops up). Now, I know from the asp.net 1.1 days that I am supposed to put <base target="_self" /> between the and tags in the modal page so that it won't open another page after it posts...
My problem is, the modal window is a 'chil' page to my master, and there are no and tags. Where should I stick in the
<base target="_self" /> tag????? Thank you guys

You can place a contentplaceholder in the master page between the end head tag and the open body tag. In the content page, you can fill the base tag in a content control which associates with this contentplaceholder in the master page.
.......
</head>
<asp:contentplaceholder id="baseTagContent" runat="server">
</asp:contentplaceholder>
<body>
......

Thank you so much for helping me out... I am still having problems though
Now the XHTML 1.0 Transitional validation fails telling me that the needs to be nested inside <asp:content> tag, and when I do place it within the asp:Content tag, it gives me an error saying that the tag cannot be nested within . This makes no sense, I don't even have a table structure!!
Can you/anyone help me shed some light on this issue??
Thanks!

Placing the html tag in the Content control does not make sense to me. Here are a couple of options:
+ Just ignore the error if it's working.
+ Turn off the validation in the VS options settings (Tools|Options|Text Editor|Html|Validation|Show Errors).
+ Instead of placing the base tag in the content control, you can put the Literal control in there, and assign the base tag via the Text property of the Literal control in code.

When a datagrid gets populated, if the data is longer than the header text, the column is only wide enough for the data to fit. The grid lines are right up against the data making it difficult to read. is there a way to manipulate the column width at runtime adding some space between the data and grid lines?

At design time you can set CellPadding and CellSpacing property of DataGrid - remember, the dataGrid renders its results in an HTML table, and these properties simply translate to those of the table.
You can set individual ciolumn widths at runtime using, for example:
DataGrid1.Columns(2).ItemStyle.Width = System.Web.UI.WebControls.Unit.Percentage(30)
This would change the third column to 30% of the overall width. You could use
...Pixel(100)
if you wanted to give it a fixed width of, say, 100 pixels instead.
cheers

Thanks for the response. CellPadding and CellSpacing will increase the height of the row which I don`t want. I could fix the width with percentage or pixels, but with variable length data, this method will only work sometimes.
What would be best is if there was a way to convert units to a number type and back. Then I could grab the width of a column, add some units to it and then convert it back.

Hi,
I think u will have to check for ItemDataBound event of the datagrid for this purpose maybe check if u can get the current column width and then change it there only or adjust the text by inserting into the string to be bound to that column...
I haven't tried this yet...But just thought of sharing this idea...
Thanks for reading..
Thanks & regards,
