MVP is a further bit of evolution on the MVC pattern. MVC is Model-View-Controller and is a way of separating out the functions of the user interface (the View) from the business layer (the model) by using a controller.
MVP is Model-View-Presenter is (in my opinion) a better alternative in that it separates the functionality much better such that the view knows nothing about the model (in the MVC pattern the view did know about the model. In both patterns the model does not know about the view.
MVP is also more easily unit testable than MVC.

What about designing the web application in 3 tiers(Data-business-presentation) does this make the same purpose?

Then the MVC or MVP will be part of the business and presentation tiers of a three-tier application.

Hi,
Using CompareValidator control in .NET 2005 can I compare 2 date values in dd/MM/yyyy format? Bcoz the default behavior for date comparision is that the comparision out is proper only for mm/DD/yyyy values.

OK this one has me stuck
In the below code I am pointing to a Access DB in the App_Data folder in the root of my web site. When I run the code it errors telling me that the dbo.mdb if not in "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common7\IDE"
If I rename my "ShowroomRegDB" Access Db to dbo.mdb and copy to the path it is looking all is fine????
Why is it not using the connection path I have placed in the Connection String???
Please help.....

Try adding a "/" to the beginning of your connection string
Dim strConn As String = ("Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=" & Server.MapPath("/App_Data/ShowroomRegDb.mdb"))
This tells the webserver to look in the root of your webfolder.

Very Strange...
I know the Connection string works but it keeps looking for dbo.mdb for some reason.
I'm stumped.

Try altering your SQL commands from ("SELECT Important FROM dbo.ConfigTb WHERE ConfigID = 1")
to:
("SELECT Important FROM ConfigTb WHERE ConfigID = 1")
I think the "dbo" - may be confusing the Driver.

I tried to make as simple example using web service as possible:
- I created a web service project from the templated installed in VS2005
- I mark it as a virtual directory and put it under C:\Inetpub\wwwroot directory
- I created a windows application, and added web reference to http://83.175.131.18/MartinezService/Service.asmx (you may try that yourself)
- Then I tested it with:

Do you just want the rows to be reordered on the webpage, or should they in some way be reordered in the underlying data as well?

Otherwise, let us know, and we'll try to help.
Let me know where you get the data from (sqldatabase, dataset, etc), and how you decide what order the rows are in.

There is no such conversion. It's called translation, and you don't only need code for it, you also need a vast database of words and phrases and their translations.
