in jscript function, u can store ur data in a
label or hidden fields, which can be further access
from code behind at the server...

The leader of our team in a company said that he don't want to use any asp.net code until it is the last choice because it will make the website heavy(slow) and when we need it we will use AJAX and for the same reason he prefer using Repeater controls instead of any DataGrid or DataList controls.So most of the website code will be javascript and html pages.Do you think these ideas are correct?.
I am too late but i will never give up

ASP.net isn't slow if u use it correctly and write efficient code
using AJAX helps reducing postbacks so it's good
u can search for articles about advantages of using AJAX
As for the repeater issue here is an article about it:

as for javascript, it is recommended to use it when possible because it's client side scripting so it would reduce the load on the server
so ur team leader is right

it might be a bit harder when u performance is the goal, but u'll get out with a piece of art when u r done

my requirement is create a msmq and send it to another machine and also i want to send message along with the message queue.so i've created msmq object to send queue.
MessageQueue myQueue;
myQueue = new MessageQueue("\\\\172.21.8.200\\private$\\DevXTestQueue");
myQueue.Send(Ex.Message.ToString());
so i got the this error
Exception was thrown: System.Messaging: Cannot create a queue with the path \\172.21.8.200\private$\DevXTestQueue.

Hi,
I am having two users like Admin and User.Now i dont want to Show admin Part to User.For that I have created Two Master Pages,one for Admin and another for User. And in Mater pages I have created menu containing different contents for Admin and User. Admin can view all things but User can't view admin Part.
So how to do this ?
Any other way ?

hi
You can have one master page. and after login you can change your menu according to user's access privileges. You dont need to have two master pages for that.

As u have designed the page for different user then u might be checking the user or password or something like that. check their if the user is "Admin" then view all the content, if the user is "User" then view the content as per

Ya i am checking it via role.. but as i have said that i am using .ascx user control in which i have made treeview. and registered that user control in every web page now how can display different .ascx control to every page ?

in User Control, define a property like "_IsAdmin". if he is admin, add the Admin items or not in to menucontrol or treeview control.
Or create two menu user control, add both to the page , setting theirs visibility to False. After loging, show whis is necessery

Hi guys
I have one serious problem. I am developing one project in which i have to write logic in different project (ClassLibrary) and GUI is in my website.
When i am adding both projects in one blank solution then it is not working properly. I am also adding reference of my class library i.e. DLL file in my web site. So when i make changes in Class Library then it is not reflected directly but i have to open that class library in different visual studio application and then i have to build that and then i am getting the changes that i have done in that solution.
Help me if anyone knows it.

Hi Dear,
you have to right click on solution add new webSite and you can add forms in that.
Now right click on solution , add new project in that select Class library..

Open your web projectsolution file -> right click solution in the solution explorer -> go to Add -> goto Existing Project then select the aproprite classlibrary project

Hi
Up to now I have used Visual Studio 2003 to do my Web Application development. When I wanted to open a web app I could just go to Inetpub\wwwroot - and double click on the project file in the Web Apps folder to open the project for editing/developing. I have moved over to Visual Studio 2005 in this week and created a test web app on the //localhost. When I go to the web app's folder in Inetpub\wwwroot, I do not see a project file. The only way I could find to open the project for editing was to open Visual Studio 2005 editor and click on the app under 'Recent Projects'. When I need to copy the project to go and work on it on another development computer I would not be able to do that. Where is the project file kept?

The WebSite 2005 template does not use the project file, with VS 2005 you'll more options than VS 2003 to open a web site. If you want the project file, you might want to check out the WebProject 2005 template[^]

How do you open it from within Visual Studio 2005? I used Open Web Project and went to the website folder in Inetpub\wwwroot, but there was no file that I could see that Visual Studio 2005 would open.
