I used my local IP to connect to the web service:
<endpoint address="http://192.168.0.102:4501/WCFService2/Service.svc"
but I am getting the following error while calling the service from the other computer.
There was no endpoint listening at http://192.168.0.102:4501/WCFService2/Service.svc that could accept the message. This is often caused by an incorrect address or SOAP action. See InnerException, if present, for more details.
thanks for your reply

Sir;
I don't know much about WFC services, but from the error message it looks like the port 4501 is not accessible from the requesting machine.
please check whether the port is accessible or not.
Help people,so poeple can help you.

Is it actually running? Is there a site defined in IIS on your machine on that port number?
There are only 10 types of people in the world, those who understand binary and those who don't.

Make sure you've got the correct .NET framework set in a) Project settings, b) IIS App pool and c) IIS App settings....
I've had this alot recently when switching .NET4.0 services to .NET3.5 and vice versa - seems the change adds a load of stuff that can be "misinterpreted" unless it's all singing from the same hymn sheet...
C# has already designed away most of the tedium of C++.

Thank you for your replies.
The problem was at IIS App pool, and .NET framework was set incorrectly.
btw for all newbies at IIS and WCF, make sure that you have correctly re-install and configure ASP.NET for IIS. You can do this by writing command "aspnet_regiis -i" in Visual Studio Command Prompt.

in stored procedures how to connect database?
please send me examples.
|
|
|
|

You don't connect to a database from a stored procedure. You connect to a database to execute a stored procedure.
Pick up a book on ADO.NET and read it.
Failure is not an option; it's the default selection.

instead of a query you need to call a stored procedure.

Hi,
I'm trying to creat a timer that count down and when it reaches 00:00 to alert with a popup and disable the form.
Here is the client side code:
<asp:UpdatePanel runat="server" ID="updPanel">
<ContentTemplate>
<div class="visibleDiv">
<asp:Label ID="lblTimer" runat="server" Font-Bold="true" Font-Size="14"></asp:Label>
</div>
<asp:Timer ID="Timer1" runat="server" Enabled="true" Interval="500" OnTick="Timer1_Tick">
</asp:Timer>
</ContentTemplate>
<Triggers>
<asp:AsyncPostBackTrigger ControlID="Timer1" EventName="Tick" />
</Triggers>
</asp:UpdatePanel>
I'm disabling the timer at the Timer_Tick event,
checking when the minutes and seconds are 0.
My problem is that i can't disable the form or the submit button.
Can someone please assist me?

Are you getting any type of error messages or is the button just not being disabled?
Can we also see the code when you are disabling the button.

Nop, i don't get any error, the button is just not being disable.
Joshua Omundson wrote: Can we also see the code when you are disabling the button
I'm doing it at the page load event in side some if condition. Also tried puting it inside the time tick event.
When i debuged it i saw that the if statment return true.

You have to use javascript for countdown timers. Try to google javascript countdown timers,
I don't have sample code that is easy to paste right now at the moment.

use grid view_row_deleting event
Fix your problem..

Add Command Buttons in grid.
On RowDeleting event trap the id or any thing by which you can execute delete query. execute query and again bind grid.

I've been struggling with the same problem for a few days now without getting anywhere. In my aspx page I try to call a PageMethod from a javascript and then inserting the result of that call into a div.
MyPage.aspx
<ajaxToolkit:ToolkitScriptManager runat="server" ID="ScriptManager1" EnablePageMethods="true">
<Scripts>
<asp:ScriptReference Path="~/javascript/myscript.js" />
</Scripts>
</ajaxToolkit:ToolkitScriptManager>
...
...
<a href="javascript:myFunction();">Click to run script</a>
...
...
<div id='theDiv'></div>
MyPage.aspx.cs
[System.Web.Services.WebMethod]
public static string ReturnTheString()
{
return "This is the string returned";
}
And finally my javascript function where everything goes wrong myscript.js
function myFunction()
{
PageMethods.ReturnTheString(OnSucceeded, OnFailed);
}
function OnSucceeded(result)
{
var myDiv = document.getElementById('theDiv');
myDiv.innerHTML = result;
}
function OnFailed(error)
{
alert(error.get_message());
}
The problem is that I don't get the expexted "This is the string returned" as result in my OnSucceeded js function. And when I debug my website and set up a breakpoint in ReturnTheString() the code never runs.. My result parameter is sometimes just empty and sometimes has the value of almost my whole page (starting with

Today I finally found what was the cause of this behaviour - and fixed it. It turned out I was missing the following lines in my
web.config file:<br />
<pre lang="csharp">
<httpModules>
<add name="ScriptModule" type="System.Web.Handlers.ScriptModule, System.Web.Extensions, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31BF3856AD364E35"/>
</httpModules>
</pre><br />
<br />
Hopefully this might help someone else who gets stuck with this problem :)
