hai,

I have a software in CD which contains .dll and an .exe of a software.I copied that software folder and put inside of a asp.net application and create a link to execute the software.but it didn't work.plz give me the solution.

Example:

<Run the Software>
it gives the error that .dll files are needed to execute.

I made a folder and put both .dll and .exe in that,but error created.
please give the alternate solutions to execute the software through the Link in .net.

hello again,
thanks for ur solution about logout and validations. today i have anather problem.
i have 2 dropdownlist on page the second one filled with values from DB according to the first dropdownlist selected value. so far its work well but the probelm each time i the first dropdownlist selected index changed it do a postback and the page flashs or something like that. i want it do the postback in smoth way.how can i do that? i dunt know if u understand me but the page refresh in an agressive way which annoys the users.

Postback is the standard way of requesting the sever in ASP.NET, otherwise you may use AJAX.

Hello.
I'm useing a calendar control on my page and I want to let the user pick a date from today untill 14 days from today.

Is there a way to limit the dates that will appear on the calendar control (I want to avoid haveing to check after the selection what did the user select)?

Yes there are..But since you are using some custom controls , i don't now how much you can customize that ? You can do one thing when the date is assigned to the textbox call some javascript function and check the date is correct or not. If not prompt the user for entering correct date.

Hi all,
I am designing a form in which i show employee info when the user clicks a button.I want that when user selects an employee the current state of the page be saved and the user is directed to other page where he does some thing and when he hits return the saved context is reloaded. Is it possible using session variables???

Try and store the values in a database table rather than session variables.

Dear friends,

I want to populate a formview or details view or list view in such a way that empty rows will not be displayed at all i.e. suppose there are records in a database having name, age and qualification field. I have some records which do not have age field. I want to populate formview or details view or list view in such a way that for those who have age their records are diplayed alongwith their age. But who don't have, instad of displaying empty fields I do not want to show its row alongwith its label (age) at all.

One more thing. How to display multiple records (say 5) in formview or details view or list view alongwith paging (I know paging but don't know how to display particular no of records per page).

I will be very much thankful.

Why not put a WHERE clause in your SQL? WHERE age != null OR age != ''

If I will use that sql query then null age records will not be included in dataset. I just want to eliminate empty rows alongwith their lables in my details or form or list view.

composite control security error

Dear experts,

I have built a composite control and trying to use it on a web site project.

When I'm compiling, I get this message:

Error 1 Request for the permission of type 'System.Web.AspNetHostingPermission, System, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed. V:\LiorTest\Login.aspx 44

Beside that error, I get another error message when compiling:

"Error 19"…….. unc……….. because the network BIOS command limit has been reached.

I have read the appropriate article regarding the last error and set the registry as requested but still I get this error.

the Web.Config is empty.

How and where can I set the security for the composite control?

Can I see an example?

There are two ASP.Net pages. Page-A contains GridView control, whenever user adds a new row or edit existing row can see an image, on click of image a new window pops-up which contains a textbox and a button. Whenever user types something in textbox and presses the button the text should be transferred back to the EDITABLE or NEW Row in GridView in one of the textbox controls.

Now the problem is how to do that.

Is it possible to change the default Orientaion of Child Nodes of a TreeView
control of Asp.Net2.0? Default orientation is Vertical that is child are added vertically but I wanna make it horizontal? any idea please (without WPF)?

I am not totally sure why you would want to have a blank gridview, but to do it you just need to set the datasource = null (Nothing in VB) and then call the gridview.DataBind() that will blank out the gridview.
