Hi
you are right.I cannot check the registries on server side. How can I check the registries on client side. Do you have any idea?
Thanks

Indeed i am. My grasp of the very basics of server side programming is quite astounding.
I'm not sure that what you want is at all possible. If it is, you'll need to write some kind of applet/ActiveX, and I'm afraid i know very little about that. If you think about it, the ability to access teh registry on the client side would be a bit of a security hole...

The simple answer is that yuo cant. You've already been told this.
The more in-depth answer is that in order to read registry entries on a client machine you will need to ask the user to download an executable program, which will read their registry and communicate whatever it is you want to know back to your server using HTTP. Obviously the user will need to give express permission for the download, and depending on the OS for reading the registry too. DO NOT expect all this to happen in secret with no user intervention...it's not going to happen.

I want to develop asp.net application which contains menu but menu items should be generated from database. My intension is that Administrator can change menu items by working only on database, no need to change front end any how.
For example: Web page contains Menu as
1. Home
2. About Us
3. Contact Us
So if Administrator wants can change About Us menu to Our Clients menu, so administrator only need to modify in database don't touch front end any how.
Any small help also appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

I would have thought that you just do the following:
create a table i.e. table_menu
Insert all your menu items i.e. home, contact us etc
Then in your backend code create a select statement which selects all fields from that table and loop it until all fields are displayed.
Then whenever the user updates the field in the database it changes straight away in the website
you could even build a front end app for them to edit the database through a simple form
hope this helps

Hi,
I was using this code in asp.net 2003 and it was working fine..
I am using vb script.
<asp:textbox onkeypress="OnlyNumber('txtConfirmACnumber')" id="txtConfirmACnumber" oncopy="return false" runat="server">
function OnlyNumber(str)<br />
{<br />
if ( ((window.event.keyCode <48) | (window.event.keyCode >57)))<br />
{<br />
window.event.returnValue=false<br />
}<br />
}<br />
But this code does not work properly in asp.net 2.0, This showing "window" is not a member.
Can anyone tell me is onkeypress not supported in asp.net 2.0????
THANKS

use the following codes in server side, remove onkeypress attribute in the client side code.
txtConfirmACnumber.Attributes.Add("onkeypress","OnlyNumber(this.value)")
