I'm having problems connecting from sql server to the web server
anyone know any good troubleshooting articles
Ive looked on the internet but nothing seems to help me

An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server)
do i need to configure remote connections on sql 200 if so how/
i have sorted the ip/tcp
do i need to open a port?

Looks like your SQL server is configured to use Named Pipes and not TCP as the default communications. Use the SQL Network Configuration tool to change the default protocol to TCP and open up port 1433, unless you configure another port.

I have a field uid in sqlServer whose type is datetime and it stores the id in format MM/dd/yyyy,hh:mm:ss.ms tt. but when i retrieves it in asp page from data base connectivity the format is MM/dd/yyyy,hh:mm:ss.
please help

Microsoft Sql Server / Microsoft Access or some thing else.

i am using Ms access database and i keep tis database in my application andd pass connection string like this :-
Private _OleDbConnString As String = "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=C:\LcsCwaChat\LcsCwaChat\UserInformation.mdb;"
but i want it detect path(C:\LcsCwaChat\LcsCwaChat\UserInformation.mdb;) automatically.

I think this might help you but for this you have to place your database in your application.
Private _OleDbConnString As String = "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=..\UserInformation.mdb;"
If this will not work the place your database in bin directory and check it again.

I want to get the ID(unique field in "GridView3") respectively i click on the "Select" button or link. Here i'm giving my code. Plz check and make me correct.

im using Javascript(setTimeout()) timer to partial postback of my aspx page.
this works fine in IE.but not in Firefox.
anybody know about this....

IE does not strictly fallows W3C Standards.
If you post the code then some one can help you
try to write generic javascript

in this event i get multiple alert continously. but i declared 1 min interval.how is this possible...
i think in each click page get refreshed then timer also restarted...
is it correct? if s pls correct this

Dear Programmers,
I am facing a problem in the loading of a xml file in ASP.NET 2.0. One thing else that the file is on a remote location. It is displayed in Internet Explorer but when the page load is show a message to press yes. If I don't press yes button then it will not show me the remote file otherwise it show me. How can I remove that message and secondly the file is not loading in FireFox. For FireFox i am using the following code:

xmlDoc=document.implementation.createDocument("","",null);
xmlDoc.async="false";
xmlDoc.load(xmlFile);
xmlDoc.onload=xmlFile;
}
It show me the following error in firefox:
"Error: uncaught exception: Permission denied to call method XMLDocument.load"
What shall i do. Please help me in this regard.

In my page i have used AJAX model popup, once i use the model popup it will generate error on click on any button.
the error is "Sys.InvalidOperationException: Handler was not added through the Sys.UI.DomEvent.addHandler method"
