Thanks for the reply dear.
i thing u mean to say, in DataBinding of label (that's in design mode),
for label just use Eval("columnname").
But will that solve the problem of hiding the label field at run time?
Plz be brief in ur ans.
Also how to use it as an arg of js function?

using an HTML control is not the solution as per architecture...if there are 1000 records, there will be 1000 html control and every time you will be finding that control via javascript....
passing argument to javascript is very easy
onclick='functionname(<%# Eval("arg1")%>,<%# Eval("arg2")%> ) ;'
you can use any event i.e. onchange , onblur , ondoubleclick etc.....
it will outperform in terms of performance

You can use hidden field html server control instead of label.

Hi All,
I have a page that calls another with parameters (Eg: page2.aspx?show=pdf&w=100&h=200). My page2 contains textboxes and the drop downlist(with default value set to something else), when I enter the page2 I want to set the parameters to my textboxes and dropdown list. I used ddlEmbedDisplay.SelectedValue = show; but its showing the old default value after this statement, Could any one please tell me, my statement is right or wrong.
Any Ideas please!!!
Thanks,
Aruna.G

hi Aruna,
From ur query it seems u want to pass a value from one page to another and set that value as the selected Text of a dropdownlist on page 2 when page 2 loads. right?
heres how you can do it.its crude but still.
//Code on page 1
param1 = "Good Morning";
param2 = 300;
Response.Redirect("default2.aspx?param1=" + param1 + "¶m2=" + param2.ToString());
//code on page 2
String param1="";
String param2;
param1=request.querystring("param1");
param2=request.querystring("param2").tostring();
DropDownList1.Items.Add(param1);
DropDownList1.Items.Add(param2);
DropDownList1.SelectedIndex = DropDownList1.Items.Count - 1(when new items are added to a dropdownlist they get appended to the end of the list of items.1 denotes the last item,2 would be the second last item etc.)
Hope this helps

I went to the article and my program says some of the classes used in the article are obsolete. I replaced them with the suggested ones ans tried sending the mail and it said failure to send message. What does that mean?

Hi friends,
I have one com dll created to hash the password.
Now I'm using that dll in Asp.net application.
The steps that I did are:
1) Opened .Net command prompt imported the com dll
C:\> tlbimp GMUtils.14.dll /out: NetGMUtils.dll
2) The above command created one dll.
3) I added that dll(NetGMUtils.dll) to bin
4) when I'm trying to craete an object for this class ,then it is throwing an error
"Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {7CCE4755-47BD-4F8D-B469-8E54FFD29E18} failed due to the following error: 80040154"
Can any body have the solution.
I searched a lot in google also but there is no solvable solution.
Advance Thanks for help

Just a guess from memory. Does it expect you to have a regsvr32 before you are using it?

Hi,
I want some code/scrpit that asks for confirmation, before overwriting any existing value.
I have tried with Confirm function of javascript,
But it is executing at the beginning or end of the code.Not the exact position where I wanted
EX:

Lline2
.

.My script shoud pop up here and ask for confirmation
Once got conformation remaining code should execute.

Actually I havent added any code, I am telling the scenerio.
I want to know whether the javascript can be populated after
executing some code in aspx.cs (and asks the user to confirm
yes or no ) and get some input from user
and resumes it executions by consedring those inputs ?

javascript code can be written into the backend code although I am not sure if you can do what you want
Just for reference
C# is server side code
Javascript is client side
A user could potentially turn off the javascript code through their browser.
You could use ajax confirm control instead
