I want to add a banner into a master page. that banner has this extention .swf (for example: baneer.swf which is a flash) What is the code that I have to write to add this banner and make it work in the master page. Please if you can give good description of how to do it because I am new in this filed.
Thank you in advance for your help.
Best regards,

There is nothing special about adding a flash in a master page, just put the code in the page as with any other page.
Despite everything, the person most likely to be fooling you next is yourself.

use following code.... replace the movie name from "/images/banner.swf" to your banner file
<object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0" width="800" height="308" id="container" align="middle">
<param name="movie" value="/images/banner.swf" />
<param name="quality" value="high" />
<embed src="/images/banner.swf" quality="high" bgcolor="#ffffff" width="959" height="328" name="container" align="middle" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" />
</object>

put this tag as it is in HTML SOURCE where you need to put that banner....

<param name="movie" value="images/movie.swf" />
and
<embed name="ad2" src="images/movie.swf"
change the value/src to simply point towards your SWF file...

no issues...
you save it and close the master form . now run the application without caring about any error and check whether it works or not.
[and you have created a div with 100X100 px area...and your SWF movie object's size is 800X600 px... take a look and set it accordingly. EMBED tag is for mozilla fireforx support. if it doesn't recognize you can even remove the embed tag .]

Thanks again for your help and effort.
I have done what you have just said, but it didn't work. I have tried it with both Firefox and Internet Explorer. I shows me the box (width and hiegh), but without showing the banner (content of the banner or the flash).
Is it working with you?

ah !
yes i have faced that problem once....that was the problem of faulty publishing of flash movie...
currently this ocde is working very fine with me...i have used it on live site...
try using some other SWF movie....[download from internet]
try this code..... save it as test.html and run this...if it works fabulous then try changing the name of your images/logo.swf with http://www.xpressions-snap.com/images/xflash.swf

do u have adobe dreamweaver installed ?
if not then downoad it and install..... it will complete your job very easily...as it will automatically generate the appropriate HTML code if you just insert the SWF file at any point in your form (same as in MS-Word you choose to insert any image to be inserted into the page...)

Hey guys
I have been using URL Rewriter available at: MSDN[^]. I want to rewrite subdomains now. For example...
http://adam.sitename.com/index.aspx ---should map to---> http://www.sitename.com/index.aspx?user=adam
|
|
|
|
|
Why would you want to use a subdomain instead of www.sitename.com/adam ? You're adding the overhead of managing your subdomains via DNS. Think about how many users you're likely to have, this really isn't a good idea.

Hi to all
I create a new product using asp.net,c#,sql server.
Using this product the user can create own .aspx files. Now my question is after creating the page the user need to save this in sub domain, my product is in main domain sub directory is this possible to save the file in sub domain from main domain ? If yes then please members guide me with source code ....

I have an image control (ASP.net 2.0) that won't show the image at runtime. it's set to runat = server. I'm using the development server in VS. It shows fine on the page at development time. It shows the alternate text where the image should show. the image is in my ~/App_Data/ folder & is a .jpg.
|
|
|
|
|
have u tried showing image from any other folder?
Ashish Sehajpal

Ashish,
thanks for the reply. It seems that loading it from the root "~/" works . But, from the "~/app_code/" or "~/app_data/" folder doesn't. go figure! Any idea why?
thanks,
bld

dear... as per architecture of dot net, app_code or app_data folder do not have permissions to be accessed like this way...they are meant ot store system resource and will be compiled to a DLL file...
how come we compile any image file?
always try to keep images resources into a folder named images... it helps building more sophisticated solutions and increaes readability from developers.
cheers !

Hi all,
I'm running into a problem on a web service I'm writing. I'm getting a "The underlying connection was closed: Could not establish trust relationship with remote server." message when a test page I wrote try to consume a web service I wrote. The web service uses SSL and I generated a test license using MakeCert.
I've googled the problem and I've tried the suggested solutions (checking DNS name of my machine vs the one on the license). The code "solution" (more like a hack) on MSDN works for me when I added the code segment into the test page, but that just weakens the security aspect of it (plus the web service is suppose to be consumed by 3rd parties and I don't really want to tell them to do such a hack.)
Can somebody help me or point me in the right direction?
|
|
|
|
|
Hmm, just realize somebody asked the same question in a previous thread (with an undescriptive subjet of 'Question'). But the answers there doesn't really help me. So please, if anybody can help me, it'll be greatly appreciated.

Bleh, figured it out. Needed to generate the certificate against our internal trusted certificate provider.

Hey, i just moved to a new webserver running win 2k3 and IIS 6.0. on my last webserver(it died) we were able to let the web application run executables from code Process.Start(blah) that were typically in their own directory under c:. they were just file converters that took .wav(user likes) and made them .ul(we like) and a TTS app that we wrote. with IIS 6.0 even with the accounts(IUSR, IWAM, etc..)having full access to the directories we get a Access Denied exception when the web app tries to run the programs. We have little experience with windows 2k3 server and IIS 6.0 the last server was win 2k with IIS 5. i've been looking on google for a while but cant find a solution that works.
any help is appreciated.
