For SelectedIndexChanged event you need enable the AutoPostback property to True. Have you done that?

Hi all,
I am using Visual Studio 2005 and .net 2.0. I want to scroll down the listbox items according to the value in the textbox entry. For example, if we type "a" in the textbox, the listbox entries which starts from "a" should be listed. Is it possible with dropdown list control? Shall we add items to dropdownlist controls at runtime? Please guide me.
Thanks.

Yes
or you could sort them by the letter a. A query would help you here so that when you populdate the dropdownlist from the database you can select by and order by the letter 'a' for example.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply. I don't know about AJAX. Is there any alternative ways other than using AJAX? Could you please refer me some useful websites which briefly explain AJAX?
Thanks.

So you made the links, just need to know how to do the hard part. Try Google, I've heard they are pretty good at searches.

There are plenty of good site searches out for indexing. Microsoft Indexing Service is a good one. If your website is database driven then you could query the database rather then the html code.

try using substring function.
var mstr='str1<=1';
mstr=mstr.substring(0,mstr.indexOf('<'));
Now mstr contains only str1.

Hai i would like to know how could i provide single(or double)
click event to a td inside a table.. I know that onclik="SomeFunction();"
would do that. But my situation is that td is of fixed height and width
If no text is there, no clik is needed.if it has, say a single character(say "a"),
then the user should be able to click there inside the td to pop up a window.What i found that i am
unable to click and produce the corresponding event for the td by clicking anywhere
except where text is situated. Means if i click on the text, the event works. And if
i click anywhere else, it wont...Any solution?

use a div tag to surround your text and add onclick functionality to that div tag. that should work.
