Hello all,
I want to send email via Outlook redirected from asp.net page. I have already implemented:
Protected Sub email_field_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles emailfield.Click
Dim emailadd As String
emailadd = txtEmail.Text
emailadd = "mailto:" & emailadd & ""
Response.Redirect(emailadd)
End Sub
This redirected the page to a new page and also opened the outlook window. But I want to open the outlook window without getting redirected to the new page.
What may be the ways to do that?
Thanks,

Have you tried using a mailto: hyperlink, the user will then get an outlook window to send a message. I'm not sure you can open Outlook via javascript.

No I have implemented Link button not the hyprlink.

It is a little unclear what you are trying to do.
How do you expect to interact with Outlook on the client from your server side .net code?

I wrote a web project for a client. The project end-user is my client's clients -- all 1200 of them. From time to time, I trap this error:
System.FormatException:
Invalid length for a Base-64 char array.
at
System.Convert.FromBase64String(String s)
at
System.Web.UI.ObjectStateFormatter.Deserialize(String inputString)
at System.Web.UI.ObjectStateFormatter.System.Web.UI.IStateFormatter.Deserialize(String serializedState)
at
System.Web.UI.Util.DeserializeWithAssert(IStateFormatter formatter, String serializedState)
at
System.Web.UI.HiddenFieldPageStatePersister.Load()
That is the entirety of the message. No specific line of code to reference. It happens in all different pages of the website. I'm not doing any encryption/decryption from page to page, so this kind of makes me think .NET is somehow having trouble decrypting its own session data. But that's just conjecture.
Does anyone know what causes this and how to fix it? It is a .NET 2.0 project (in C#, not that that should matter), with AJAX extentsions 1.0.
Thanks.

in your project,did you use anywhere Base64 conversion???
Cheers!!

No. I am performing no base-64 conversions, no serialization, no encryption, no decryptiong... Nothing that would cause this. If you notice, the stack trace does not point to any line of my code. I didn't omit anything in the copied text. That's what makes me think something bad is happening on the postback at the .NET framework level.

I found the problem after many hours of hair-pulling.
The end users are causing this by double-clicking buttons. My client's server is on the slow side, and all AJAX really does is cause confusion as to whether anything is happening or not. So the clients get anxious and start double-clicking, triple-clicking, quadruple-clicking, etc...
The double-click causes an interruption in the streaming of the viewstate, which causes a truncation of the viewstate and subsequent "invalid" message.
I know I can prevent double-clicking of simple controls like Buttons and LinkButtons, but what about something more complex like a Calendar control?

You should not have script elements between the head and body tags. Put the script elements inside the head element.
Despite everything, the person most likely to be fooling you next is yourself.

yes i have put my 2 script files inside head (Thats inside my normal web page, not the UserControl).

(ASP.net)I have datalist control with tamplet button i want on click event insert record But when i click button it give folling error,
//Error------------
Invalid postback or callback argument. Event validation is enabled using <pages enableEventValidation="true"/> in configuration or <%@ Page EnableEventValidation="true" %> in a page. For security purposes, this feature verifies that arguments to postback or callback events originate from the server control that originally rendered them. If the data is valid and expected, use the ClientScriptManager.RegisterForEventValidation method in order to register the postback or callback data for validation.

Unless i use ItemDatabound Command event.

Open the file using a StreamReader and output the content to for example, a Literal, a Label of the Response object.

Try this.
<a href="path of html file" runat="server" target="_blank">

I have converted an asp.net 1.1 application to asp.net 2.0.now am getting the following error while trying to build the web site...
The type 'OASYSeHCM.Global' is ambiguous: it could come from assembly
'C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Desktop\BDhofar1\bin\OASYSeHCM.DLL'
or from assembly 'C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Temporary ASP.NET Files\bdhofar1\a48119a1\a96f7f92\App_Code.1ohx0gex.DLL'.
Please specify the assembly explicitly in the type name.
whant could be the reason?...
|
|
|
|

Hmmm... this is because of two assemblies that the ASP.net framework thinks to be different but are the same (probably because of different metadata). So just go ahead to the location 'C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Temporary ASP.NET Files\bdhofar1\a48119a1\a96f7f92\ and delete the file App_Code.1ohx0gex.DLL and try to build it again

Delete all the files under C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Temporary ASP.NET Files\bdhofar1\a48119a1\a96f7f92 folder and try again!
