There is a best practice for this issue.
You develop your mainpage with two frames one is hidden and one is main with 100% height.
All your project works at 100% frame. And at 0% frame you write a javascript code to open a popup at client side window.onunload event (body.onunload does not work for ie7 tabs). And at that opened window means that user left your site.
But it is still impossible to capture if user closed computer via power button.

How you came to a conclusion that session_end is not firing?

Hey div_gusain,
Just few month back , I had face the same problem and done some work around. Hope you will like this
If you are using MasterPage then use following code on the OnUnload Event of Master Page
onunload="DeleteUserLog()"
Here is DeleteUserLog Funtcion ,
function DeleteUserLog()
{
if(window.event.clientX < 0 && window.event.clientY <0)
{
window.open("CloseSession.aspx", "OpenWindow_Close_Session",'left=12000,top=1200,width=10,height=1');
}
}
CloseSession.aspx is a temporary popup file, that will do the rest of the job for you !!!
<code>if(Session["UserID"] != null)
{
}
string strPopupScript = "<script language="javascript">self.close();</script>";
Page.ClientScript.RegisterStartupScript(typeof(Page), "PopUpScript", strPopupScript);</code>
Let me know if this helps you
cheers,
Abhijit

Hello everybody,
Can please tell me how to get Multiline Textbox in a ASP.NET mobile form.
Any other solutions. I have to enter multiple lines into text box.
Thank you.

Looks like framework configuration issue. Check the event viewer to see what is the error.

On my web form,I have applied a MasterPage,which contains a user control. This user control in turn contains a link button. I want to set this link button as the default button on my web form.
I found 1 free dll on internet which gives this method : - DefaultButton.SetDefaultButton(textboxControl,ButtonControl);
But this method, somehow, does not allow link button (only Buttons & ImageButtons are allowed).
Please Help.
Thank you .

Have you tried the DefaultButton property? Something like
<form id="form1" runat="server" defaultbutton="yourLinkButton">
|
|
|

Yes,I have tried this in a separate sample project & it worked.But I am confused about ,on which page should I apply this in my project,B'coz here, the link button is inside a user control which is placed on the master page.And this master page is applied to my webform().
I tried this on the user control's tag,but it din't work.
Thank for ur reply.
But I still stuck,please help.

Hey,I got it!!
I took all the required controls inside a panel,and then set its property defaultButton to a button(say "Button4"), made it invisible and called linkbutton's Clink Event on Button4_Click.
Seems simple.
Thanks a lot...

That was tricky. But I assume you can use the same button and change it's style like a link button by applying some CSS. Then you don't need to hide the button.
|
|
|
|
|
Yeah,I had tried that earlier.But then it was giving a diferent effect to the viewer and since there are other link buttons too,so all of them should look alike.That is why,I had do it like this.
But anyways,Thanks a lot for your immediate responces.

Hello All,
is there possible to add User Control (.ascx) use in C# project same way textbox,listbox?
If yes then how and can you please provide example?
i have created one "top.ascx" User control which i want to use inside test.cs class;
is it possible to access user control same as Textbox,Listbox etc... inside test.cs?
Please provide solution as soon as possible.

Probably what you need is web controls not the user controls. User controls are being placed in a web form.

Yes, but you need to create a custom control (i.e. compiles to dll) rather than a user control (has .ascx). Then you can reference the dll that contains your custom controls in the test.cs class.

Try this
right click on the Setup package you created for it
Then, Click on the Configuration manager button
Under Platform, there's a dropdown where you'll see it says Any CPU - click on the dropdown - if you don't see X86, then create a New one - it will bring up a small form that should get you where you want.
Also - in the project Properties - click on compile, and then the Advanced compile optiions and set the target platform there.
Cheers!!
