hi am new to ajax,am facing a big problem,
my requirement is to add the item details to the grid,by using modal popup.
In the modal popup i give a option to search the itemname
this search details will be shown on grid in the same modal popup,in that grid i added button for selecting rows.
once the user click the select button, i want to assign the
values in the modal popup textbox, by using java script fucntion.
My problem is javascript fucntion working well, i tried by alert fucnction working fine but the

function shopModalPopup(itmid,itmno,itmdesc,onhand){

alert(itmno);
alert(itmdesc);

document.getElementById('itemid').value=itemid;
document.getElementById('itemno').value=itmno;

does it work if you use innerHTML?

document.getElementById('<%=this.itemno.ClientID%>').innerHTML = itmno;

but still the value is not visible in textbox.
view soruce look like this

<td>
<input name="itemno" id="itemno" style="height: 21px; width: 263px;" type="text"><input>E-4005

"E-4005" is my itemno it is not visible in textbox.

Hey Zapss,

Great! I probably skimmed through the question too quickly, but I wasn't sure what type of control you were using. I just remember having an asp:label control one time and the .value would not change! I then stumbled across an article where someone mentioned that the label is putting a "" tag on the html and you need to use innerHTML to change what is displayed.

have you used document.getElementById('<%=this.itemid.ClientID %>').value = itemid;

Also check what browser renders. If it is input, you can use value, if its container you use innerHTML.. Cool | :cool:

Hi,

what is the error message you are getting?

Did you configured your SMTP-server correctly? Are you using the local one (provided by the IIS)? Maybe you must check for security properties (for this, open the IIS manager, right click on SMTP and then to the tab "security").

Now typing in msword document using equation editor and type matrix
(i.e. 3 row 4 columns).

Hi,

Yes it is possible to enter everything you like in a textbox. I guess you want to evaluate the equation afterwards. Have a look at this article, this could be a good starting point:

Hi,

I need to clear all the Control field's - (Radiobuttonlist, Dropdownlist, Textboxes and Fileupload) values on a button click. I am able to do for Radiobuttonlist, Dropdownlist and Textboxes but not able to do for FileUpload control. Can anyone please help me out in this. Thanks in advance

txtAppID.Text = string.Empty;
txtkeywords.Text = string.Empty;
MtxtDesc.Text = string.Empty;
ddl_Domain.SelectedIndex = 0;
ddl_Theme.SelectedIndex = 0;
rbl_Businessarea.ClearSelection();

This is code i have written on a button click. On the same button click i need to clear the ASP:FileUpload control values too.

There is no text property for FileUpload control.

Pardon me, you are Right. Now Before you Upload , you need to check if there is a File like this

if (FileUpload1.HasFile)
{


}

what you can do is that when you done Uploading you can clear it at the Upda of Uploading process like this

if (FileUpload1.HasFile)
     {
      //Do the Uploading
      //When done Clear the Upload control
       FileUpload1.HasFile = false;
     }

or you can do it like this

or you can do it with javascript like this

    {

The Javascript function works fine.

the FileUpload.Hasfile = False does not work it errors out saying Property or indexer 'System.Web.UI.WebControls.FileUpload.HasFile' cannot be assigned to -- it is read only

So i used the javascript function. There is one more issue. When i use the Javascript function i am calling this methos on the OnClick of a Button, on the same OnClick event i have to clear the other fields for which the code id on the .cs file.

protected void btnClear_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
txtAppID.Text = string.Empty;

If both the functionalities are in .cs file can call it one after the other.
One functionality is in aspx page the other is in .cs file. So what do now.

I would rather move this to client side. Its always nice (atleast my preference) to handle the validations, field clearing at the client side itself.

windows service not working

Hi friends,

i have a problem in windows service.I have made application same as that code.that application contain IHTMLDocument interface.When i run the service, break point disappear from this IHTMLDOCUMENT line nad not completing the further process.Where as with the same code,application successfully executed.

Can anybody tell me what type of problem is there?reply me on sonal.2086@gmail.com
