Without knowing what method you called to go from text to byte[] there is no way to know for sure how to get it to go the other way. If the call you used actually turned the text into a PDF file and gave you the bytes of the pdf, then you need to use ITextSharp to parse the pdf to get the text back out. If you don't want to convert the text to a pdf before saving, then I would certainly recommend using standard .Net library calls rather than iTextSharp to convert to byte[] (e.g. enc.GetBytes(yourString)).

I think the name of the configurable aspx website is the problem '701-...the-market-of-1.aspx'.
The function System.Web.Util.UrlPath.ReduceVirtualPath(String path) tries to reduce the paths '..'-value to the
upper directory. Your path is an absolute path. Now the function has the problem to find the upper directory of the full root directory. This directory doesn't exist and thats why it spits this exception.

The first thing I would suggest is don't mix and match / and \ in URLs. Use / since it is the proper character for URLs and it also has the other benefit of not being an escape character.

I think you can store the value in a session, but I am not sure if it is a feasible solution.
The other option I can think of is, you need to save an encrypted value in the hidden field. While retrieving, decrypt it.
It would have been an easy task if you were using ASP.NET.

I think you are a beginner in this world of asp.net. So try to understand button tag in html HTML <button> Tag[^]. almost html and asp controls are same. the difference is one is processing of server controls take place in Server, Htm controls are in client.

I have tried with your code and it is working fine. What exact problem you are facing? Try to put a breakpoint and debug it.

Hi
I have an update panel that surrounds a wizard control which I use in conjunction with a update progress control. Now my update progress control works perfectly, with my animated gif and div tag that lays over my wizard control when the user goes from step to step. However, there is a problem that I am struggling to solve. A number of my steps use controls like list boxes, and when the update progress control fires, the list control is not laying underneath my div an animated gif no matter how high a make my css z-index on the div.
Does anyone have a way of solving this?
Thanks

Hi,
(Firstly, apologies if this is not the best forum for this question, but I couldn't see one that looked better suited.)
Does anyone know of a good, easy-to-use tool for automated testing of websites - preferably free or low-cost?
One I have tried which is particularly good but I cannot currently afford is WAPT. This allows you to use a standard browser to record a sequence of actions on a website and then allows you to simulated many users running the same (or a different) script. The reports at the end of all this show errors and other statistics (e.g. average page load times).
My ideal would be something as close to this as possible (in fact, does anyone have an older version of WAPT to sell?).
Any suggestions would be very gratefully received.
Best wishes, Patrick

I've got multiple date fields on a form in asp.net. I've been asked if there's a way to have a shortcut key (e.g. Ctl+semicolon) to fill the field with the current date. But, I don't want the fields to default to the current date, because many times the fields are left empty. Anybody got an example of code without buying Beans or some other outside software?
Thanks,
JB
