Ok fairly simple setup, I have a ssrs report embedded in my application. I know how to use the top% and bottom% filter. But I would like to split it into thirds..
is there a way to do top33.33% bottom 33.33% and middle 33.33%? never mind why as that is another issue but is there any way to do this?
one list uses top 1/3, second list uses middle 1/3 and third list uses bottom 1/3. This can be split simply by Primary keys or any column that is unique as the order does not matter, simply that I get the split right. Am I blowing smoke and wasting my time? or can this be done.

Hi all,
I have created a webapplication in c#.
I am having a treeview which is in the form of
t1
|_ t2
| |_t3
| |_t4
|
|_t5
|_t6
when i count the nodes i should get 3 that is t3,t4,t5 but i am getting t2,t3 and t5.
Can any one tell me how can i solve this.
Thanks in advance.

Try this :
private void button_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
int count = CountTree(treeView1.Nodes);
MessageBox.Show(treeView1.Nodes.Count.ToString(), "Number of root nodes");
MessageBox.Show(count.ToString(), "Total number of nodes");
}
private int CountTree(TreeNodeCollection root)
{
int count = 0;
foreach (TreeNode n in root)
count += 1 + CountTree(n.Nodes);
return count;
}
Hope this helps.
All the best.

Hi
In popup window calling thr javascript menthod
window.showModalDialog("URL" ,"Arg1", dialogHeight: 600px; dialogWidth: 950px; edge: Raised; center: yes; help: No; scroll: Yes; status: No;");
While clicking that populate some information those are made in Page_Load call back method at begin
protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
if (!IsPostBack)
{
}
}
After clocing the popup window , Once again Viewing the popup window its IsPostBack Properity return true value so doesnt populate some information to that page.
How check these on page_load ..

window.showModalDialog("URL" ,"Arg1", dialogHeight: 600px; dialogWidth: 950px; edge: Raised; center: yes; help: No; scroll: Yes; status: No;");
You have quote mark before closing parenthesis; is that suppose to be there?

Hi,
Pass a random number every time with url, other wise it load page from cache.
for example
window.showModalDialog("abc.aspx?id=randID=" + Math.random() % 1000 ,"Arg1", dialogHeight: 600px; dialogWidth: 950px; edge: Raised; center: yes; help: No; scroll: Yes; status: No;");
Thanks

Sometimes it holds some value in cache. So passing Random number can work.

The closest you're going to get on a web page is BorderStyle="Groove" unless you make your own control to use instead of the Label.

Hi guys I tried applying graphics through skin using the way presented in this site http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ykzx33wh.aspx
It worked with asp .net 3.5 but with 4.0 I didn't work. When I viewed the page source I get
for asp.net 3.5
and i get
for asp.net 4.0
It seems asp.net 4.0 doesn't replace ImageUrl attribute with src when rendering
My question is: do I have problem with asp.net 4.0 that I need to repair/reinstall or is it something else?

Hi,
Are you missing runat="server" attribute in img tag?
<img id="image" runat="server" src="~/App_Themes/test/Contoso.gif" style="border-width:0px;">
ImageUrl is the property of asp:Image (Image control). So, you could also write like:
<asp:Image id="MainContent_Image1" runat="server" ImagerUrl="~/images/Contoso.gif" />
Hope this will help.

This sometimes occurs, especially in a development environment where multiple deployments may have occurred.

Check your solution . This is happen because of naming convension. Check that you have given different name for Class file and Page Name.

Hi all, I am trying to group regular buttons like we can do radiobuttons. is there any way we can group regular buttons like radio buttons.
thanks,

Group them how? You can place the buttons in a div, a table, a repeater, or any number of ways. Please be a little more specific.

Sorry I forgot to mention that I am truely new to web app. I don't know which one is the best approch, but the way I have is I have a table and put a button in a cell. For example, in a row I have two cell and both the cell have a button called "back" and "next" when I run the app these two buttons are little far from each other. even though I align them to right.
what I want is to put the buttons side by side.
<tr>
<td align="right" colspan="3">
<asp:Button ID="pageThreeBackButton" runat="server"
style=" height: 30px; width: 50px"
Text="Back" onclick="pageThreeBackButton_Click"/>;
</td>
<td align="right">
<asp:Button ID="pageThreeSubmitButton" runat="server"
style=" height: 30px; width: 50px"
Text="Submit" onclick="pageThreeSubmitButton_Click" />
</td>
</tr>

So you are not really concerned with grouping buttons as much as positioning them.
Table layouts should not be used for positioning nor should inline styles be used. Use CSS in an external file for positioning and applying other styles. This way you can apply the style to an entire class, button, and have it apply to all, not set each button individually. The CSS class are also reusable across your project.
If you are unfamiliar with this then you need to step back and do some research before diving into the technology.

If you google something like "blueprint css" there is a site that has developed a .css framework that I found quite useful when initially figuring out layouts by divs rather than tables. It has for download various .css files and example pages that are a good way for the uninitiated to examine various layouts by use of divs and css etc. May be worth a look. The css files are a useful basis, with a bit of modification, for a lot of what I typically want to do.

Good information but would it have hurt you to do this http://www.blueprintcss.org/[^] ?
