hi friends i have one problem in asp.net. i need to send weekly and monthly report to the consultants. is there any special scheduler in asp.net bcaz it should send automatically when system starts. Please help. Its urgent.

Use javascript timer to get datetime & Ajax callback function to call server side method and send your report to your manager. its simple

It sounds like you need to create a windows service, or possibly a scheduled job within sql server to run once a month. It doesn't sound like the sort of thing ideally suited to asp.net.

ok i tell u i want to use Mouse over event for the purpose of Imageswapping when i place my mouse over the image then the thumbalimage will display as a large image.i hope u got my problem now and i want to use this in a datalist.

Hi All,
I am having problem regarding paging in datagrid.
datagrid1.items.count will give me total number of items in grid.
But if I am using Paging in grid and I want count total number of items in grid how I can do that.
datagrid1.items.count will provide count for current page only and not for total items in all pages in datagrid.
I hope you will suggest some solution.

i think u were binding ur Datagrid usng datatable then u can count the number rows in datatable. like
let say
dim dt as datatable
dt.rows.count
will give u the number of rows that will show in datagrid.
i think it will help full for u or u r using some thing else to bind the grid.

Hi ,
I cant actually understand your problem. You are binding your grid with some table data through dataset.Then you can easily count your total no. of records by a single query or one line of code.
if you are using dataset then put----
DataTable dt=(DataTable) ds.Table[0];
int count;<br />
count=dt.Rows.Count();
Alternatively you can use SQL query or stored procedure for counting total records.
Even if you add or delete records from datagrid then update the dataset.
Why are you using datagrid1.items.count ?
May be I cant understand your problem. If I am wrong then write without hesitation.

Hi,
Basically I am using 3 tier arch. In which we are calling function which is in 2 layer.this function returns dataset which is then assigned to datagrid in 1 layer.So I can only return dataset from function and not table item count.
So my question is how I can get no of items from this returned dataset
I hope now I am clear from myside.

Why can't you just derive the number of rows from the returned dataset?
something like:
ds.Tables(0).Rows.Count

Hi,
My image control is dynamic and the pictures are shown from somewhere from hrddisk and that directory is not a path of virtua directory.
can someone help me out in writing a handler so that whenever the image is shown the request goes to handler and it generates some random path, this is require so that if someone tries to see the property of the image he does not see the Absolute path.

Hi All,
I'm having a problem with linked bound DropDownLists.
I have three DropDowns on my form, 1, 2 & 3, all linked to different ObjectDataSources (ods1 ods2 ods3).
DropDown 2 takes the value of DropDown 1 and uses this as a part of it's query parameter, DropDown 3 takes 2's value and uses this as part of it's query parameter.
The problem I'm having is that when the page first loads, DropDown2 isn't picking up DropDown 1's value and subsequently displays an empty list. Just using these controls, it doesn't seem to be possible to invoke a PostBack event if DropDown 1 contains a single value as neither TextChanged or SelectedIndex are true when the user selects the item.
I'm sure there is a problem with my logic here, so can anyone recommend a good guide on using these controls or offer any advice?

After populating the first dropdown you can try passing
DropDownList1.Items(DropDownList1.SelectedIndex).Value
as parameter while filling the second dropdown..

Hi there,
In the second ObjectDataSource you can define a ControlParameter as a SelectParameter, and this paramater is pointed at the first dropdownlist control with the PropertyName is the SelectedValue.
Also, when the dropdownlist has a single item, IMO you may not need to postback the web page.

if i m not wrong u want the value from one drop down to second dropdown and from second doropdown to third drop down.is it ok.
if it is like that then
then u have to fill the First dropDown at the Time of page load and when user select the second drop down then corresponding to the Value of first dropdown the Second Will fill. for that u have to write the Code in
the Event of First Drodown_Selectindex changed.
just like For third..

I think this could be DNS problem. I would say that IP you are trying to resolve has no appropriate name in DNS database. But I never met exception like this and what I did write is only my opinion.

Hello All,
iam trying to do a page which connects to a payment gateway (say Authorize.net). I 've gone thru a PDF based on it. IAm trying to do SIM.
There are so many problems i've encountered(
* For posting to that site ,HTML/SERVER controls needed?
* if customer need to get the result of it on that page itself(if
successful u need to insert it in the database) ,which controls to use
* If iam opting HTML controls then onpage load itself i need to populate
certin hidden controls with values hw to do it)
AND A LOT MORE..........
Can anybody assist me in it.

Don't get me wrong here, but it sounds like you need to be learning a whole web technology, not just the small bit to do what you require here?
