when i create file in wwwroot directory then following error occurs but not in c:\\ path.

Exception Details: System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path 'c:\inetpub\wwwroot\Prakriti\deepak.txt' is denied.

ASP.NET is not authorized to access the requested resource. Consider granting access rights to the resource to the ASP.NET request identity. ASP.NET has a base process identity (typically {MACHINE}\ASPNET on IIS 5 or Network Service on IIS 6) that is used if the application is not impersonating. If the application is impersonating via <identity impersonate="true">, the identity will be the anonymous user (typically IUSR_MACHINENAME) or the authenticated request user.

To grant ASP.NET access to a file, right-click the file in Explorer, choose "Properties" and select the Security tab. Click "Add" to add the appropriate user or group. Highlight the ASP.NET account, and check the boxes for the desired access.

After i set this

in web.config i also get the error like "The View State is invalid for this page and might be corrupted"

Any idea to eleminate the error?

This property checks whether view state is tampered with or not.

Dear Concerned,

I have a problem while running my project in Mozilla.
The problem is when I select the file by using input file control of HTML 7 I press the save button,then my program is unable to get the selected file from the file control.
I want to save the selected file in a new folder/directory in my current project directory.Directory to save file is "temp_images".

The error comes : Could not find the file "C:\WINNT\system32\btn_tell0.gif"

My code to copy the file is as follows:

hi there....

This is the code defaultly i'm having in sample.aspx file..[ html view ],

I converted this sample.aspx.cs file into sample.dll file successfully. Now how should i write(include) the page directory in sample.aspx file, and what are the steps to upload this sample.dll file in remote server..

i want to build for my purpose.i have already used yahoo but in this case customer must have installed yahoo messanger otherwise he/she cant chat with us.
As per my requirement,
whene Customer will login for chatting then alert message will apear on my computer and then i can chat.

If you build your own application, then this app needs to be installed on client machine. If you dont want to send some app to client side, just build a web application where all client log in and can send messages ? (just a suggestion).

Hi.
Thanks 4 your advise,
but also i have made chat web application but i have some problem in this app

1.I cant get alert message when client want to get support
2.One client can read message of onether client if other will login in.
3.message is not refresh if client logout from there or message is not deleted from there if app will be closed .

Hi,
I think you will need windows applications for the problems you are facing. It would be very difficult to design some web application. You can create a Web service and write client of the same service. This application will simply transfer data from one client to you or vice versa. Using a Web Service between will enable some flexibilty. You can design protocol for your application.
This would be a better solution. Along with this web service you can even create a web application where you can provide facility to download your chat application.

I think this is an easy question.. (2nd try)

I have a DataList displaying data from a ObjectDataSource and below that an input form that inserts data into the same table. When the user clicks submit, upon postback the DataList is showing the data prior to the submit.

How do I refill the data on postback?

Id post some code but filling of dataset and databind is 2005 "magic".. here is the code Im using in the ButtonClick function:

Hi Gentlemen’s,

I am struggling with a issue of implementing Single Sign-on between the ASP.NET applications.

I have 2 ASP.NET applications which are configured as windows integrated authentication and Impersonation enabled.

My windows logged in account
User Name: Mathews
Password: XXXX

My ASP.NET Applications has different logon name that is
Username: Johnson
Password: XXXX

Upon clicking a link in first ASP.NET application the user should be redirected to second ASP.NET

Here the problem is when user is redirected to second ASP.NET App it is again prompting login box (asking for credentials).

Is there any way to redirect user to second ASP.NET app with out prompting for credentials time and again.

Any help is highly appreciated.

Hi,
I think you will have to keep track of log ins in some third application. this can be a web service. Whenever you need to authenticate an user, a request to web service will be fired from your login screen. This service will return some value if the user is authenticated. this value can then be used in one or both of applications.

HI,

I m trying to create a drop area/Region for drag and drop inside a gridview.

For dragging i am using the DragOverLayExtender ,but for dropping i need to create a DropZoneExtender.

Can u help how to create a DropZoneExtender on which i will pass the target control's id and it will become a dropzone

and this has to be done using tle latest Ajax Changes and Extenders.How do i write the code for this..pls help
