I suppose it means System.Web.UI.WebControls which are nothing but composite user controls.

We have a Windows Server 2003. We have installed
Oracle Application Server 10g on it for some other
application and it already uses port 80 which is also
default port for IIS.
Can I install IIS on the same server on which Oracle
AS 10g resides? Also, can I configure IIS to a
different port as 80 is already in use?
I need answers as soon as possible. plz...

Hello
I have an HTML Table on a textFile, and I need to add this HtmlTable to my page, and reference to it, like dt.rows(0).cells(0).tostring,
I thought of a literalControl, but I failed referencing to mytable
Dim path As String = Server.MapPath("../test.txt")
'test.txt contains
'HTML Table
'""
Dim strContents As String = ""
Dim objReader As StreamReader
objReader = New StreamReader(path)
strContents = objReader.ReadToEnd()
objReader.Close()
Dim
lt As New LiteralControl(strContents)
Panel1.Controls.Add(lt)
Dim t As HtmlTable = Panel1.FindControl("test") ?????
if not t is nothing
Response.write(t.rows(0).cells(0).tostring)
End If
Any Ideas??

This is not gonna work...
Can you tell the exact requirement, why you need a file with string for Table (with runat="server" tag)??
|
|
|
|
|
I have this table stored as text file, and I want to read its contents and save them to my Db, I want to avoid looping in the string
Thank you
|
|
|
|

The string table you are using is not a Server-Side control anymore even though you use runat attribute. You have to have that in the .aspx file or dynamically create the Table Control on the codebehind. Then only you can access the Table using FindControl Function.

|
|
|
|
How to create this table from code behind same as the HTML table located on a text file??
Thank you

Hello
I have a textFile containing HTML Table as string:
for example:
I need to read from this table and insert the cells values into a DataBase?
any idea how to do this? not hot to insert to DB, how to loop through this table knowing the original tables are much complicated than this simple table
Thank you

Hi,
The "test" HTMLTable not inside the panel1.
The "test" HTMLTable is a text of literal control.
So You cannot use FindControl().
You should convert The Contens of the file to a Control.
And use Controls.Add

Hi BilalShouman,
Instead of reading from file.
Create it runtime
Dim ht As New HtmlTable
Dim hr As New HtmlTableRow
Dim hc As New HtmlTableCell
hc.InnerText = "cell1"
hr.Cells.Add(hc)
hc = New HtmlTableCell
hc.InnerText = "cell2"
hr.Cells.Add(hc)
ht.Rows.Add(hr)
Panel1.Controls.Add(ht)
