hi, thanx for ur reply... if u mean to use something like this
dim cs as scriptmanager = page.clientscript
cs.RegisterClientScript(args)
then this also doesn't work. otherwise can u please provide a sample code...

When we use ajax on our page a scriptmanager class is found on the aspx.cs page and then we use this class to register the script.The code will be like below.

ScriptManager.RegisterClientScriptBlock(this.Page, this.GetType(), this.ClientID, "ShowMessage();", true);

Hi all

I am working on a asp.net application. There is a requirement to create reports. I am using SQL server 2008. What is the best solution, RDL or RDLC?

Please advice

If it is asp.net application
Use RDLC instead of RDl..! and present the reports in report viewer..!

If you want to use only reports then use rdl files and display it thr reportserver

RDL files creation is through SQL 2005->Report Designer and RDLC files creation is through VS 2005->Report Designer

also RDL and RDLC formats have the same XML schema but in RDLC files, some values (Query Text) are allowed to be empty, which means that they are not immediately ready to be published to a Report Server. The missing values can be entered by opening the RDLC file using the SQL Server 2005 version of Report Designer.......

I created Both Types of applictions..!

I think You are talking abt parameters they can be left blank in any type of the file ..!
What exactly You are trying to develop..!
In rdlc files u need to display the files using reportviewer control ..!

Mr.sashidhar, I think while replying there is no need to cut and paste same line which is posted by user...(like I am searching for oops + asp.net web application) if you are interested to reply then reply it otherwise no need to do like that.

Hi,
currently i m using asp.net (c#) with sql server 2000. in database i have declared a column datatype as nvarchar(2000) and in frontend there is an "COMMENTS" text box where user will type and save the value. but if they trying to save any texts like HTML TAGS its getting error [ in this codeproject also i tried to put some sample tags but i cant Frown | :(

]. do i have any way to save such HTML format tags?

How can I do encryption using cryptography in asp.net.I searched google and got solution for 16 bit and 32 bit but I want high level encryption like 64 bit and 128 bit.Could any one know this pls help me?

While reading from a text file and displaying the content in a label or textbox in ASP.Net, junk characters are displayed at the beginning and end of the content. I tried the encoding scheme, but still unable to solve the problem. Please find part of the code below.
