The Format property is used to format the date in the extended TextBox.
However, I need to format the date that is shown in the calendar as today (in the footer).

sorry for reposting this but i really need help on this one.
i'm trying to fire a SoapException (thus returning it to my client) when an exception occurs. i've followed the steps in the documentation on how to set up a proper soap message (especially on how to provide a Details XmlNode). but once i run my webservice through the browser and call a webmethod firing such exception, i only get the Message-part of the SoapException back (as a string). what i'd need to get is a properly formatted SoapException with all the details i initially provided.
does anyone know this problem? i guess i'm missing here something essential.
kind regards!

check whether any file path specified in the web.config file to access any xml file or any other files. If yes check whether the specified path is correct from the wwwroot folder...

am not giving all the values in the textbox means if i left some textbox with giving any value

where i have written the code as" cmd.Parameters.Add("@no_mp_record", Data.SqlDbType.Int)
cmd.Parameters("@no_mp_record").Value = CType(TxtBxMp.Text, Int32) "
and in the database i have defined its value as null and also in storeprocedure i have done accaordingly.

I too faced the same problem.
Then i took the whole page into a table and set width, height, length, etc.
If i need to design in different tables, i used instead of Table inside a table and set its width, etc...
Try this, u will get the result

i have gridview which is populating data from emp table.
where the columns of emp table are
empid int,emp_name varchar(20),emp_sex char(1).
in the gridview i have assigned the autogeneratedselect coloumn as true.so when ever i am populating data from the database the select option is shown for every row.
now i want to dispaly the emp_id of the record (in another textbox say textbox2)to which i have selected. what wil be code in vb.net for it.i mean to say if i have selected the record whose emp_id is 2 then this emp_id should be displayed in the textbox2..

Hi,
I am designing a form with a DataGrid and other server controls, TextBox, Calendar, ListBox etc. The idea is at page load the grid would be filled, when user clicks a row in the grid, the controls below would be filled with data in the grid so that user may edit data and submit again.
However, everytime I click a row, the validators in the conrols below are firing. Say, one textbox is not filled by data from Grid, but it has a custom validator, it will fire when user clicks a row. Its annoying because this form has lots of controls with validators and the moment I click the row in Grid, lots of required field and custom validator errors would fill the validator summary.
Could anyone suggest how to avoid this?
Regards,
Blumen

set the "CausesValidation" property of that control to false
Regards John
cant set the causesvalidation to false because validators has to fire when data is entered in those controls and Submit button is clicked, but not when a row in the grid is clicked.
what is that server control(child control) used to click the item in the grid?
change the "causesvalidation" property of that child control. keep the causesvalidation property of the submit button the same. Let the validation happen when you submit the page, not when you fetch the data during postback.
Regards John
I'm directly clicking on the grid rows, not any child controls. The grid has a hidden cloumn, which has a unique id. This id is unique for every row. I'm using this id on row click and getting data from the database, with data I fill the controls below the Grid.
So this is the scenario. What can I do now?
Regards,
Blumen

try this ValidateRequest=false in your page directive of your asp.net page,, but there are security concerns
winnie
Page validation should not be turned OFF when there is a need to validate the data on submit.
To disable validation for any control on the page, need to set the control's CausesValidation property to false
